There's so many factors to determine the greatness of individual. Numbers is included but not limited to that one. We have leadership, team worthiness (this will be determine if what the status of the team before he join and the status of the team when he left that team), talent, accomplishments and most important rings.

When we talk about numbers, surely Wilt Chamberlain is the man, scoring 100 points in a single game, pulling 55 rebounds in one game, average 50 points in a season and so on. But his individual achievement is shadowed by the fact that he won only championship twice in his 14 years NBA career.. This is due to the fact that Chamberlain is individualist not a team player like Russell.

siguro ganun nga sir Borgir, but ung influx ng talents nung 50's and 60's era NBA were not that much on 80's and 90's even 00's..Russell and Chamberlain's talents are way ahead than the others and they had the luxury of having great teammates so the game for them is much easier..

Lets not talk about Wilt for he has only two rings and played in different teams.

Let's talk about Jordan who spent mostly of his career in Chicago and Bill who played only in Boston during his 13 years in the NBA.

This is my answer to your analysis.

Yes, Russell had great players. Any dynasty had great players. Before Russell was drafted, the Celtics couldnt win with 4 HOFs. Russell came in and took them to the Championship. Who was the only constant in the 11 championship run? Bill Russell. The year before Russell retired, the Celtics won the Championship. The year after he retired, the Celtics missed the playoffs. They went from Champions to also-rans.


Jordan was drafted in 1984, but only in 1991 won the championship.

And when Jordan retired in 1993 (first retirement), the Bulls make it to the play offs led by Scottie Pippen.

So who do you think have a better team mates between the two?

for me its simple.. wilt was dominating.. russell was the best in his position.. but MJ changed your perception about the sports.. lets agree on one thing.. all of the world knew the other greats who played basketball because MJ made it into a HYPE.. is MJ greater than BILL.. stat and skills wise NO.. but because of MJ's IMPACT to the GAME.. I still think it's still MJ, kobe is a close second(LBJ needs to win more to be compared to MJ and Kobe). I don't believe in stats. what MJ brings to the table is more to stats.
