One of ESPN’s top NBA analysts thinks that Kevin Love is coming to the Lakers, and while you’ve heard those rumors before, the talk is really heating up now as the current Cavs star is unable to play in the NBA Finals due to a shoulder injury.

Bleacher Report talked about the potential Love fit in Los Angeles, and why it makes so much sense on the surface.

He went to college at UCLA and could theoretically “return home” to be Los Angeles’ next superstar after Bryant inevitably retires within the next couple of years. What’s more, the possibility of pairing Love with the No. 2 pick and Jordan Clarkson for years to come is enticing for Lakers fans.

Pairing Love with someone like Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns would make the Lakers that much more dangerous. Towns is a shutdown defender who will provide rim protection down low next to Love, who appears more comfortable defending outside the paint.

The comments by Grantland’s (owned by ESPN) Zach Lowe were in a podcast with former local Cleveland Cavaliers beat writer (and current ESPN analyst himself) Brian Windhorst, where both agreed that Love is absolutely leaving Cleveland at season’s end — despite Love’s recent comments that he’ll be in Cleveland next year.
