Phoenix Suns Waive Former #2 Overall Rookie Pick Beasley

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns ended their brief but turbulent tenure with Michael Beasley by releasing the former No. 2 overall draft pick on Tuesday.

Beasley signed a three-year,$18 million deal with the Suns in July 2012 but he never lived up to the National Basketball Association team’s expectations.

In his only season with the Suns, the 24-year-old Beasley averaged career lows of 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 75 games.

His problems extended off the court as well as Phoenix police investigated him in January in connection with an alleged sixual assault at his home.

He was also arrested last month for alleged marijuana possession and possession of
drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.

Beasley began his NBA career with Miami in 2008 and spent two seasons with the Heat before being dealt to Minnesota.

The Miami Heat are reportedly interested in bringing back their former number 2 pick,Michael Beasley.

They believe they could use his scoring off the bench,where the veteran presence of players like Ray Allen, Battier,and of course the Big Three could keep him in line. Low Risk, high possible payoff, just like signing Oden.

However conflicting reports have also said that even though the Heat took a chance on a similar player like Birdman, they are less keen on doing it with Beasley, due to their previous experience with them.

during the 2005-06 season, former overall #1 pick, 1992 (O'Neil) and #2 pick, 1992 (Mourning) played for Miami and even won the championship in 2006, defeating Dallas Mavericks, 4-2 in the finals.

The Brooklyn Nets will retire Jason Kidd's number 5 jersey prior to their October 17th preseason game against the Miami Heat.

Kidd played with the New Jersey Nets for 6 seasons (2001-2008) averaging 14.6 points 9.1 assists and 7.2 rebounds. He led the franchise to consecutive NBA Finals in
2002 and 2003. Kidd holds the franchise's NBA records for assists (4,620), steals
(950), 3 point field goals made (813) and triple-doubles (61).

Kidd will become the sixth player in franchise history to have his number retired with the franchise.

medyo nag take talaga sila ng risk sa pag sign nila kay Oden ( prone to injuries ) , and then ngayon kay Beasley ( drug addiction ) !
pero given na walang prob sa 2 players na yan , at makapaglaro sila ng buong season , malaking tulong sa Heat yan lalo na't inside game ang 2 na yan w/c is kulang sa Heat .
