Why Paolo is missing in Eat, Bulaga!

For several days now, Paolo Ballesteros (photo) has been missing in Eat, Bulaga’s Kalyeserye in which he plays Lola Tidora (trio with Wally Bayola as Lola Nidora and Jose Manalo as Tinidora). While Paolo would “disappear” every now and then to fulfill commitments abroad, it would only for a few days. But now, his absence is getting longer, thus making the Kalyeserye followers wonder whatever happened to him. Is he indisposed (like he was last year when he suffered an elevated high blood pressure)?

Here’s the truth and nothing but: Paolo has been suspended after he “ranted” in his Facebook that he was clueless what he was supposed to do at an ad summit in Subic sponsored by Eat, Bulaga!. He was supposed to be one of the hosts but he was a no-show. As he “ranted,” he decided to stay in his room and drank.

Was it a show of unprofessionalism? Has the Kalyeserye success gone to his head (while the rest of the cast, mainly Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, remained level-headed)? It isn’t a case of “too much, too soon” because Paolo is an “old-timer” on the show, is it?

According to the Funfare VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent), Paolo has been showing “unpleasant attitude” and that Bulaga event proved to be the boiling point.

“Did you know that the content of the cup that Paolo usually drinks from is not coffee but Red Horse?” asked the VDPA.

So, has Paolo been rendered “drunk” from drinking too much Red Horse?

Pia Wurtzbach chooses James Reid over Justin Bieber



MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach prefers Filipino actor James Reid over international star Justin Bieber.

This was during a casual interview with Matt Ortile of Buzzfeed Philippines that was posted on the Facebook Page of Binibining Pilipinas.

“James Reid, ano ba naman ‘yan mga tanong mo, alam na alam na ‘yan!” she replied, smiling.

When teased that she might soon meet the actor who is now in a relationship with his onscreen partner Nadine Lustre, she replied, “I don’t want to go there.”

Pia also chose career over love explaining that “if the guy really loves you he will wait.”

She also shared one trivia about her during the interview.

“When I was training for Binibining Pilipinas, I purposely trained myself to get used to wearing seven inches [of heels],” she revealed.

“So when I wear five [inches] I could sprint in five [inches],” she added.

Report: Dr. Mike confirms dating Pia Wurtzbach



MANILA, Philippines - After Pia Wurtzbach denied dating anyone, Dr. Mike Varshavski revealed the opposite in an interview with entertainment website Wonderwall.com

"I am dating Pia. It's a fairly new relationship but I'm really excited to see where it can go!"  'the sixiest doctor alive' told the website.

Ever since their photos and videos together started circulating on the Internet, fans have been speculating that the two are dating. However, the 26-year-old beauty queen repeatedly dodged the issue.

On her Faceboook live feed on Saturday, she specifically told the fans that her priority is none other than being a "Miss Universe."

Showing her sash during the Facebook Live session, "No. There's no specific someone in my life. This is the specific someone. This is the priority,"  she said.

Varshavski and Wurtzbach first met in an intimate gathering in New York City on February.

Meanwhile, Wurtzbach has yet to react to Varshavski's statement.

MANILA - Celebrity couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia took advantage of the Holy Week break and watched Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors win their 51st straight regular-season home game at the Oracle Arena Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).

Crawford, a self-confessed fan of the San Antonio Spurs, posted a short clip he took of Curry warming up before the game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The caption read: "My love [Coleen] and I cannot wait till this game starts! It ain't the Spurs, but Curry is worth watching."



Meanwhile, Crawford's co-hosts on "It's Showtime" are similarly making the best out of their short break. Anne Curtis visited her family in Australia, while Vice Ganda surprised his mom in Los Angeles.

Karylle caught an episode of American talk show "Ellen" with her mother Zsa Zsa Padilla, while Teddy Corpuz and Jugs Jugueta went to Hawaii and Baguio, respectively.

It’s Binibini season again, or haven’t you noticed?

In two weeks, five Bb. Pilipinas will be chosen: for International, Supranational, Intercontinental, Tourism International and Universe. Whoever wins Bb. Pilipinas-Universe will bear with the added pressure when she goes to the 2016 Miss Universe pageant since the current title-holder, Pia Wurtzbach, is a Filipina — unless, of course, she is good enough to duplicate the feat of Venezuela which scored the first-ever back-to-back win in the pageant (2008 Miss U Dayana Mendoza relinquishing her crown to 2009 Miss U Stefania Fernandez).

Flashback:

The first Miss World pageant, founded by the late Eric Morley, was held on July 29, 1951 at Lyceum Ballroom in London won by Kerstin Hakansson of Sweden.
Founded by Pacific Mills, a California-based clothing company, the maiden Miss Universe finals was staged on June 28, 1952 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, USA, won by Armi Kuusela of Finland.
The first Miss International pageant was held also in Long Beach, California, USA, after the Miss Universe pageant moved to Miami Beach, Florida, that year. Winner was Colombia’s Maria Stella Marquez.
Organized by Carousel Productions, headed by Ramon Monzon, Lorraine Schuck and Peachy Veneracion, the Miss Earth pageant started in 2001 with the first finals staged on Oct. 21 that year at the UP Theater, Diliman, Quezon City, won by Catharina Svensen of Denmark.

Selena Gomez coming to Manila for Revival tour



MANILA, Philippines - The long wait is over! Global pop sensation Selena Gomez is finally coming to Manila and will be bringing her much-awaited The Revival Tour on July 31, 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Selena Gomez made her mark in entertainment by conquering film, music and television at an early age.

On the big screen, she began making the transition from young actress to adulthood with such films as the much talked about Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers.” The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival to critical acclaim while Gomez’s performance was singled out as a “breakout.”

She was most recently seen in the Academy Award nominated film “The Big Short” opposite Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling. “Fundamentals of Caring” alongside Paul Rudd premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

“Single na single,” was John Lloyd’s reply when asked in an ABS-CBN News interview.

The reports about their split first came out June last year, although they have denied it then in separate interviews.

The actor even explained then that they were just both busy with their projects.

Since the reports about their split surfaced, his named has been linked with “A Second Chance” co-star Bea Alonzo.

MANILA, Philippines – The long wait is over for the “Encantadia” fans as the newest Sang’gres have been revealed.

On Monday, Glaiza de Castro, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia and Sanya Lopez were named as the newest stars in the remake of GMA’s 2005 popular fantasy-series.



Glaiza de Castro will play the role of Pirena, which was portrayed before by Sunshine Dizon.



Kylie Padilla is Amihan, a role played by Iza Calzado.



Gabbi Garcia is Alena, which was portrayed before by Karylle.



Sanya Lopez is Danaya, the role played by Diana Zubiri.

It has been announced before that Marian Rivera will portray the role of Ynang Reyna.

Also part of the cast are Solenn Heussaff, John Arcilla, Rocco Nacino, Christian Bautista, Pancho Magno, Carlo Gonzales, Buboy Villar, Kate Valdez, Mikee Quintos, Migo Adecer, Klea Pineda, Rochelle Pangilinan, Vaness del Moral and Ruru Madrid.

The series is directed by Mark Reyes and will air soon in GMA.
