After all these years eto ang haka-hakang lumabas tungkol sa assassination ni Ninoy Aquino nung 1983.

For 20 years the Marcoses thrived on their political dynasty... And obviously, i dont think that He opted for that kind option as to specifically  pick Ninoy to be his successor.. Though , Aquino's political background is something to be regarded as an outstanding political asset, unfortunately his exploits with the masses were all used to counter the political agandas of the Marcoses thus making him the pro of the oppostition parties .

... He may have inspired and done a lot of relevance in our political history .. It's only sad that he was used as a bait in the anti government propaganda and it only resulted to that gruesome assasination.

A fair loss in the democratic sense, just another casualty in the dirty game of political strategies... But nontheless.... A sacrificial lamb.., that cut the Filipinos... Both ways.

.... We lost another great politician , made a pawn by those equally great minds of that dirty political era.

What a misfortune indeed.

Politics is just a dirty game of those dirty power greedy people who just love to fill their pockets at hindi para maglingkod sa bayan.

Sad to say we the masses, voted them and put them into their positions, expecting them to fulfill their promises ..pero propaganda lang lahat for the advancement of their poliical careers.

End result?

We are just pawns in their endless dirty scheming political games... Exploited na noon.. Exploited pa ren ngayon.

No wonder ang majority ng present generation natin... Kundi wala sa pilipinas , nagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa... E nasa lansangan...

I agree with this one... Everybody has their own dirty laundry inside their secret trashbin. And for these politicians ( both, the straight and crooked ones) lalo na dun sa mga potential candidates for high ranking positions...expected na nila maglalabasan yan... Before the election...

They dont worry about it... They got their millions to do the dirty work for them... And afterall... Good or bad publicity... Is always a publicity... They're good at it... ' exploitation' of every resources they could get.

Twisted minds .. Twisted political system.. There's nothing new about it anyway...

This is not all about politics..

Lee Kuan Yew, Prime Minister of Singapore from 1965 to 1990 and the main architect of modern Singapore shares us some of his observation and what he thought was the problem.

"He said we had many able people. There was no reason why the Philippines should not be as successful as other Asean countries. “Something was missing, a gel to hold society together. They were two different societies; those at the top lived a life of extreme luxury and comfort, while the peasants scraped a living… they had many children because the Church discouraged birth control. The result was increasing poverty.”

Culture of the Filipino people.

“The Philippines had a rambunctious press but it did not check corruption. Individual pressmen could be bought, as could many judges. Something had gone seriously wrong. Filipino professionals whom we recruited to work in Singapore are as good as our own. Indeed, their architects, artists, and musicians are more artistic and creative than ours…

“The difference lies in the culture of the Filipino people. It is a soft, forgiving culture. Only in the Philippines could a leader like Ferdinand Marcos, who pillaged his country for over twenty years, still be considered for a national burial. Insignificant amounts of the loot have been recovered, yet his wife and children were allowed to return and engage in politics. They supported the winning presidential and congressional candidates with their considerable resources and reappeared in the political and social limelight after the 1998 election that returned President Joseph Estrada.”

His last line on the Philippines provided some answer to the problem: “Some Filipinos write and speak with passion. If they could get their elite to share their sentiments and act, what could they not have achieved?”

Admittedly... The unfortunate result of our political stature isnt at all about Politics.

Bad as it may seem... Our legislators both corrupt and straight in my opinion arenot capable to handle the current political chaos in our country.

... I read somewhere in your post, you gave a remarkable emphasis about our 'soft' culture.. True. But id rather say that we Filippinos are too generous... And too lenient with what's happening to us rightnow.

Obviously, as you say.. The problem here isnt politics but the POLITICIANS.

The crooked ones outnumber the straight patriotic ones.. Who sad to say , have no financial capabalities to support their reforms... They try in their blind faith through diplomacy... That problems concerning our laws, reforms and other economic issues will be resolved...by finding diolomatic ways, channeling out dialogues to those high ranking ( sad to say corrupt) officials... But may i ask? To what extent?

Results?

It's easy for us to anticipate, easy for us to analyze... But given the fact that filipinos have that kind of SOFT culture as you say...

I cannot blame our other  countrymen to seek a better life somewhere else rathen than stay in our country...wherein apparently, the majority ( masses) continue to be oppressed and those crooked ones continue with their plundering agendas.

Soft as you say...? Is a being a revolutionary and a radical will completely solve our problems?

Will going after the Marcoses or the Cojuancos and the Aquinos...about their hidden ill gotten wealth... Will give us all what we crave for so many decades now?

Will ... A sword, a bullet.... an assault or a persecution...will give the Filipinos what they demand?

Political Dignity?

....that bald guy from China initiated his quite perfect doctrine, it took the chinese less than a century to come up with what that is China these days... And still... They haven't perfected it yet...

If you say Filipinos have a soft culture.... Sa palagay mo....

Nasan tayo as compared sa ibang countries.

Just my opinion though... I say what i think is right as my opinion... An i DONT.. Demand for my opinions to be accepted and agreed upon.

We all have the right to disagree.

But i do... Find your viewpoint... Extremely agreaable.

I truly believed on the analysis of LKY, our culture creates the politicians that we have today..

As said by LKY, only in the Philippines that a statesman like Marcos, despite the fact that he looted billions of peso, is still considered for a national burial.

A convicted plunderer like Estrada is still in office.. Some members of Ampatuan family is still in office.. And so on..
