15. Maleficent

Who doesn’t know Maleficent? The coolest Disney villain from the classic Disney movie “Sleeping Beauty” finally has her own movie. Please note that it is not just a live action movie with the same story of the animated version. The story will be based on Sleeping Beauty, of course. However, the story will be told from opposite perspective, the villain herself. Also, in the classic animated movie, Princess Aurora never meets in person with Maleficent. In this movie, they will! It is more exciting as Angelina Jolie will play Maleficent and Princess Aurora will be played by Elle Fanning. Maleficent will spread her magic on May 30, 2014. 14. Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy

We all know she is the most favorite fairy in Disney. Yes, Tinker Bell. This fairy from the original Disney film “Peter Pan” will have her own new movie again! A story about new adventure of Tinkerbell and her friends here will be the fifth film from Disney Fairies series. The interesting thing about this film is the role of Tinkerbell and friends somehow will be switched, including the clothes and talents. Tinkerbell will be a water fairy, while Vidia will be the tinker. Iridessa will be the garden fairy, Rosetta will take care of the animals, Fawn’s role will be light fairy, and Silvermist will be the fast-flying one. 13. Muppets Most Wanted

Mahna Mahna! Who doesn’t know Kermit, Miss Piggy, and their friends? Yes, the famous story about those Muppets will be back this year! After Disney successfully brought back the Muppet characters in the brand new musical movie “The Muppets” in 2011, now the sequel is coming soon with another great story! The second movie will be even more interesting. It is about European jewel caper masterminded by a muppet that looks like Kermit. Can’t wait for this movie? Don’t worry. You don’t have to wait for so long. You can watch it on March 21, 2014.

12. Big Hero 6

Since The Walt Disney Company has bought Marvel in 2009, it is time for Disney to make a brand new film with Marvel characters. Here is the one titled “Big Hero 6”. If you love superheroes animated film like The Incredibles, this is the one for you. This 3D computer-animated movie is more for boys, as the story will be based on the robot characters from Marvel comics. The film is set in a fictional metropolis place named San Fransoky as the combination concept between San Fransisco and Tokyo. The story is about a character named Hiro Takachiho who creates a robot named Baymax. Hiro and Baymax reveal a criminal event and join a fighter team. You can watch their adventures on November 7, 2014.

11. Cinderella

Apparently, Maleficent is not the only upcoming Disney movie that will be based on the classic story of Disney Princess. Another one is Cinderella! If you are a big fan of Disney Princesses, especially Cinderella, you will really love this film. Like Maleficent, this movie will be adapted from the animated Disney film “Cinderella” in 1950. However, it will show you deeper story and you will see the characters you already know from different perspective. For example, in this film you will know how Prince Charming is actually set for arranged marriage and the Fairy Godmother is once a beggar. There will be more surprising things about Cinderella characters in this film. So, don’t miss it. It will come to you on March 13, 2015.

10. Inside Out

Here is one more Pixar brand new film called Inside Out. There is something different in this film, which makes Inside Out very interesting to watch. While a lot of movies tell stories about the character’s life on the outside, this is the story inside the mind of a little girl named Riley. There will be five main characters inside Riley’s mind, and each character is named by each human emotion to represent our feelings and emotions. They are Fear, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Joy. All these emotions will make a journey together for Riley, which actually reflects our own feelings, emotions, and what always happens inside us. Are you excited? Reflect yourself on June 19, 2015.

9. The Good Dinosaur

Disney once created a film about this creature in 2000, Dinosaur, which tells about how these creatures lived until they got extinct. This time, Disney is making another movie about dinosaurs called “The Good Dinosaur”. The story will be totally different. In this film, Disney will let you imagine what would have happened to this animal if giant asteroid did not hit the Earth and dinosaurs did not really extinct millions years ago. There will be a main character, one little dinosaur, who has trouble to fit in his life, learn life lessons, find himself, and make new friends. Isn’t it inspiring and exciting? This film will roar on November 25, 2015!

8. Pirates of the Caribbean 5

Who says Pirates of the Carribean on Stranger Tides will be the last movie of Jack Sparrow? No, the adventure of our favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, is not over yet. A new sequel, which will be the fifth film of Jack Sparrow, has been prepared for you! It is titled "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales". Some of you might get upset with the latest movie because the hot guy, Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom), does not appear anymore. Don’t worry. He will be back in this upcoming film. The secret is ready, but Disney still keeps it secret. The filming will begin this year, and if it is on time, the movie will be on screen in 2016!

7. Finding Dory

Most of you might have heard about this! Yes, after 10 years waiting, Finding Nemo is finally going to have its sequel film titled “Finding Dory”. Finding Nemo is considered as one of the most successful Pixar movies. Though Nemo is the main character in the first film, a lot of people love the sidekick character named Dory, the blue tang fish who suffers short term memory loss. That is why Disney Pixar decided to make this fish the new main character for the sequel. But of course, you can see your favorite characters such as Nemo, the Tank Gang, and many others as they will also return. New characters will also appear in this film! Can’t wait for it? Just keep swimming until June 17, 2016.

6. Zootopia

Disney is always great when it comes about its original animated film. Zootopia will be the 55th film in the list of Walt Disney Animated Classics series, after Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. The title, Zootopia, is the name of a city where the film story has set. So, in this city, a cop frames an innocent fox for a crime he never commits. Surprisingly, the fox and the cop somehow become a great team together for they have the same important purpose. If there is a life lesson from this film, it will be that sometimes your worst enemy can be your best friend. Their adventure will begin on March 4, 2016.

5. Giants

Everyone knows the classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk. Disney once created a short film adapted from this story named ‘Mickey and the Beanstalk’, with Mickey Mouse as Jack and Willie as the Giant. Now, Disney finally decides to adapt this classic story again into a full animated movie titled “Giants”. You may be very familiar with the original story, but Disney never fails to bring up the old story into something new and make all of us amazed. There will be a big adventure, love triangle, and a lot of exciting things in here. This film is expected to release on the big screen in 2016, after Zootopia.

4. Moana

Moana is the film where you will meet a new Disney Princess again, after Princess Anna from Frozen. Her name is Moana Waialiki, a Polynesian adventurer girl who is the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. Somehow her family is in need for help, and that is when her awesome journey begins. We can consider this film is a beautiful combination of “Pocahontas” and “Lilo and Stitch”, but a new exciting story will definitely create something great in this film. Many people has predicted that Moana will be successful Disney movie, just like Frozen. If it is on time, the film will be released in 2018.

3. The King of the Elves

Another upcoming Disney movie is about elves and trolls! It is called “The King of the Elves”. If you love classic fantasy story, perhaps you are already familiar with the title and story. The title itself is picked up from its original story by Philip K. Dick in 1953. This is a story about a fantasy of a man who lives in Mississippi Delta. This man will create a great story with a band of elves that live together with a dwarf in the modern days. There will be unimaginable dangers which teach them many life lessons. Maybe this film will look a bit like The Hobbits.

2. The Name Game

From the film title, perhaps you have no idea what this film is about. But no, you are actually very familiar with the story. The Name Game is adapted from the classic story, Rumpelstiltskin. The story will be combined with another classic story, Turandot. If you love watching the TV series from ABC, Once Upon A Time, you will definitely know the character named Rumpelstiltskin, who is also known as Mr. Gold. Some rumors also say that Lea Michelle, who plays Rachel Berry in Glee, will be in the lead role for this upcoming movie. The directors will be Ron Clements and John Musker who will direct Moana as well.

1. Some Pixar Sequels

As we all know, Pixar loves to make the sequels of its original films such as Cars 2, Toy Story 3, Monsters University, and Finding Dory. Some of its films are as successful as those films that have sequels, but still, Pixar has not confirmed yet about it. How is about Toy Story 4, A Bug’s Life 2, Ratatouille 2, and Up 2? Some rumors say Disney Pixar has prepared to create them, but it is still not official. Generally, Disney Pixar does not want to announce their upcoming movies or sequels unless it is well settled. For now, we all can only guess until Disney Pixar makes some announcements we love to hear.
