May mga faterneties na maganda, and meron din naman na bad influence lang ang waste of time. Those should be banned in my honest opinion.
As for me, I didn't join one though uso yan nung high school, I just didn't see any compelling reason enough for me to join. But different strokes for different folks, nagkataon lang siguro na yung mga available sa area ko and in my time are not worth the aggravation of joining and didn't make too much sense for me to join.
I have plenty of friends in it though, sa magkaiba pa nga silang mga grupo, both have have expressed keen interest for me to join, pero sa mga nakita ko na nanyayari nung time na yoon na nag kaka rumble rumble sila, for no good reason at all, and attending meetings I really didn't have the time for, I just didn't think it was for me. I would grow bored out of it that I might alienate more people rather than potential friends to fraternize with. It was just a lose-lose situation.
I would like the ability to come and go as I pleased, and at the time it seemed to be quite a decision to make. It gave me the impression of being friends by default with people I didn't care for, and at the same time, having animosities with people who have done me no harm or wished me no ill will, well just because.
Too much drama and headache. I liked to live Hakuna matata sabi nga ng wise na Timon & Pumba.. And I'm embarrassed to admit, pero I spent most of my high school life chasing after skirts. Kaya I really didn't think much about heavy stuff like that.
Silly things like exchanging love letters across the room, flirting in the hallway, dancing with chicks at the prom, tatabihan mo sa flag ceremony whoever strikes your fancy, hanging out after school and stuff like that. Oh yeah, and counter strike.
But damn, I loved my HS life.. Good times.
