Mayor Binay denies ordering arrest of Dasma guards

MANILA - Makati Mayor Junjun Binay denied Thursday allegations that he ordered the arrest of three security guards of Dasmariñas Village after they allegedly prevented his convoy from using a gate as an exit.

"The Inquirer relied too heavily on a source who was conveniently not identified. Obviously the source gave false and malicious information to the PDI," Binay's camp said in a statement, referring to a report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer that said he ordered the arrest of the three security guards.

"Contrary to the report, no arrests were made, and the mayor did not order any arrest. The guards volunteered to go with the police. The video bears this out."

The Inquirer report said the mayor came from the house of his sister, Senator Nancy Binay, when his four-vehicle convoy was barred from using the Banyan Road gate to leave the village last November 30.

In the CCTV footage, the guards of the Right Eight Security Inc. did not raise the iron barrier, supposedly due to a rule that no vehicle is allowed to pass through the gate after 10 p.m. for security purposes, according to the Inquirer source.

But according to Ram Antonio, owner of the security agency, there had been lapses in their operation when the village's guards did not allow the mayor's convoy to pass. He said his company has already apologized to the mayor.

"I have to explain that we have a standard operating procedure that we have to extend courtesy to three officials of government. That is the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the Vice President of Republic of the Philippines, and the mayor of the municipality that we are covering," Antonio told ANC.

Antonio also backed the Binay camp's claim that no arrest was made.

He said his men, including village security officer-in-charge Virgilio Robang, were brought to the Makati Police headquarters as part of their SOP.

"The guards were not arrested. It is an SOP for us that any incident that happens in our jurisdiction has to be reported to PNP or to the precinct in charge of the area," Antonio said.

"I want to clear that. There was no arrest whatsoever. They (security guards) had to wait for our OIC and the OIC accompanied the guards to report the incident to the PNP," he added, explaining the supposed standoff that lasted for minutes at the gate.

Both Binay's camp and Antonio denied that the guards were left waiting at the police headquarters for four hours.

'Don't you know me?'

Binay's camp also blasted the PDI source for claiming that the mayor uttered the words "Hindi mo ba ako kilala? (Don't you know me?)" to the guards after he alighted his vehicle.

"This is false and downright malicious. On the contrary, the mayor went down his vehicle and said, 'Si Mayor Binay ako. Baka pwedeng makiraan lang,'" Binay's camp said.

Antonio backed the mayor, saying his guards never mentioned such an incident happening.

"I don’t know where that came from but definitely that didn’t happen in this incident. I don’t think it happened because if it did, my people would have told me," Antonio said.

Binay's camp said the mayor chose to alight the vehicle and present himself after one of the guards initially refused to believe that the Makati mayor was part of the convoy.

"It was the mayor who called the police to [defuse] tension," Binay's camp said.

Antonio said there was never a friction between the two sides.

"It was more of I think nagkaroon ng explanations. Nung bumaba ang mga bodyguards ni mayor. Obviously ang guards namin, chineck nila kung si mayor iyon. we just had to check and that's also SOP," Antonio said.

"Nagkaroon ng introduction. We wanted to find out kung si mayor. The mayor came down, practically everything was answered. Iyung security, tinawag ang OIC namin, kaya tumagal yan. It was nice for them to wait for our OIC to come over and help the guards."

The security agency's owner also defended the presence of armed men around Binay during the supposed incident, saying such a scene is normal.

"I would like to relate it to any high official in government. Normally kapag bumaba ang subject nila, lahat ng guard bumababa iyun. And when they go down, they normally go down armed. Ang position dito is to protect their subject," Antonio said.

"Kapag bumaba ang VIP namin, automatic ang closed-in security kailangan bumaba. In the event na merong encounter, they are ready."

Binays’ Newest Ad Campaign Aims to Familiarize Filipinos with Their Face After Dasma Incident

MAKATI, Philippines — The family of Vice President Jejomar Binay is planning to improve their presence even more via increased “epalness“, after recent events proved that not all Filipinos are familiar with their faces, especially security guards.
“Mukhang kulang pa po,” said the Vice President. “Dapat yata nilagyan ko, este ng supporter ko, ng picture ng buong pamilya ko yung mga stickers na idinikit sa relief goods para sa mga biktima ng Yolanda.”
Binay expressed disappointment with his PR team, saying that their epal efforts must be doubled or even tripled so that every Filipino, living or dead, would know their name.
“Nung binatikos kami kamakailan, napaisip ako kung sumosobra na nga ba kami,” he added. “Iyon pala, kulang pa. Kulang na kulang pa.“
For his part, Makati Mayor Junjun Binay blamed his father for the shortcoming.
“Wala kasi ako masyadong exposure papa,” said the younger Binay during the interview. “Dalasan mo kasi yung pag imbita sa akin sa mga lakad mo, lalo na kung may media coverage.”
Junjun Binay thinks that with more exposure, incidents of confusion, coercion, using the umbrella at night, finger-pointing, arrest voluntary vacating of post and miscommunication could be avoided.
“I don’t care how high the security measures of a subdivision, due to increase incidence of crimes are,” added the Mayor of Makati. “When someone tells you they are with a VIP, you should believe them right away and let them pass.”
As a result, the Binays tapped a famous advertising agency to manage an intense advertising campaign entitled “Binay Persons Project“.
The campaign is headed by Eric Wolfson of Eye In The Sky Media, the leading advertising and PR firm in the country and is scheduled to run for 3 years.
“Under the campaign, names and faces of various members of the Binay family would be emblazoned on everyday items, such as newspapers, canned goods, manholes, billboards, underwear, horse poop, guard house, sky-writing, urinals, ice cream carts, batons and shampoos, just to name a few,” said Wolfson.
He boasted that Filipinos would be surprised on where they’ll see the mug of one of the Binays next.
The aim of the campaign, according to Wolfson, is to tap into the psyche of every Juan so that whenever they see the face of a certain Binay, they would instinctively bend over and do their bidding. 
“At the end of our advertising campaign,” added Wolfson. “No Binay shall have to utter the phrase, ‘Di Mo Ba Ako Kilala?’“.

Yup meron.sabi ko nga,kanya kanya ng labasan ng baho ang mga nangangarap maging presidente.kumbaga,kung sira si roxas,sira din dapat si binay.
Dont get me wrong mga kaPT.hindi ako pro binay.naghahanap ako ng iba pang posibleng presidentiable.dahil as early as now e si roxas at binay ang mga matunog na tatakbo sa 2016.
