That was a long article by Bill Simmons. He listed this, saying the first 5 records will always stand and are unbreakable. The last 5 , pwede. So, he thought the 33 consecutive wins by LA was impossible to break but later on believe Miami has all the reasons to surpass it.

1. Wilt Chamberlain averaging 50 points per game for an entire season
2. Wilt's 55-rebound game.
3. Russell's 11 rings.
4. The '72 Lakers winning 33 straight.
5. George McGinnis's 422 turnovers in one season.
6. Wilt's 100-point game.
7. Chicago's 72-win season.
8. Scott Skiles's 30-assist game.
9. Rasheed Wallace earning 41 technicals in one season.
10. Jose Calderon missing just three free throws in 2009 (for a record 98.1 percentage).

Well as i posted before, i'm a Celtic fanatic. But for all intents and purposes, i think it will be good for basketball for Miami to break the 33. James and company deserves it. Go break 33!

From ESPN...
The stuff about LeBron James averaging exactly 27.0 points per game during a 27-game winning streak that ended on March 27 in Chicago ... but only after LeBron's Miami Heat overcame a 27-point deficit in Cleveland exactly one week earlier to keep the streak alive.

The streak is meant to be ended on that day...not even Lebron or the mighty Heat team can change destiny.

Next Miami vs New York!!! Should be a fun game if LBJ plays against Melo but I guess the King is on the maintenance program now that they vitually clinched the best records barring any losing streak...

Dynasty may not be the right term (yet). It's a misnomer (or maybe a prochronism) but all signs are there for this team to dominate the association for the next few seasons.

Okay but who among the active teams can boast of a better 3 seasons than Miami. Okay Lakers had 3 finals appearances in the Kobe, Gasol, Odom era with 2 titles but on their 3rd year, they were struggling. That game 7 with the C's may have been the worst finals game of a Finals MVP ever.

Comparing this with the Heat's 3rd year - LBJ dominating (MVP locked), the Heat virtually with the best record, 2nd longest win streak ever, Spo in the conversation for COY, Wade rejuvenated Bosh honing his skill with LBJ and Wade out and 8 games to spare for maintenance (bench proving their worth with a win againt SAS and good game albeit with the L from NYK).
Don't tell me Miami is gonna be swept next year much like the Lakers suffered against the eventual champs Mavs in the ensuing season.  :-X :-X :-X

lets wait for the heat to get 3-peat.. then lets call them a dynasty.. for now.. they are just tied with the dallas mavericks with 1.. if they ever loose in the playoffs.. they are just a one and done team.. so lets see if they can repeat..
