Bigay ka naman ng mas marami pang detalye sa post mo. Forums ito kaya wag masyadong masikreto. Makakakuha ka naman dito kahit alin dyan sa dalawa. E.g. ako ok lang sakin maging volunteer.

K-12 ang first step sa tamang direksyon. biruin mo world standard na ang K-12 sa edukasyon pero kelan lang ito in-adopt sa pilipinas. parang naka cell phone na ang lahat nasa rotary phone pa rin tayo nun hehe.

para sa akin yung k12 lalo lang pampahirap .. hindi naman yung education natin yung problema .. kung gusto nun batang matuto .. mag-aaral yan ng mabuti .. example, yung english mula grade 1 hanggang college may english paulit ulit na nga lang yung tinuturo eh .. pero bakit di pa ren naten ma master? diba?

yung K12, okay sana...but since nakagawain na sa Pinas yung naunang educational procedure..maraming mahihirapan iimplement yan...and furthermore, not all schools can afford to construct and add more facilities sa schools nila, specially those small private ones...may pondo ang government...para sa pang publikong paaralan, kapag nagsara naman ang private schools, dagsa ang estudyante sa public schools, ang tanong...magiging effective ba ang bagong educational procedure na yan kung kulang sa teachers at sa dami ng estudyante hindi naman nila ma organize ang mga ito? Hindi naman lahat ng graduated teachers ay qualified magturo sa goverment schools...

...sa isang banda, ang okay lang dito...eligible na mag apply sa trabaho ang mga estudyante after ng senior highschool...but the question is, musta naman kaya ang employment sector? baka puro pang expats lang mangyari sa mga newly grads? e di ganun din yun...? sabagay, it is still too early to predict the outcome...but one thing is sure...malamang, ang mga universities natin, unti unti na ring mawalan ng estudyante...iilan na lang sa mga susunod na generation ang magpupursige para makakuha ng degree dahil naka focus na ang mga newly grads ng senior highschool sa early employment dahil meron na silang skills upon receiving their highschool diploma.

good point miss schy! K12 program is better, generally speaking. problem is its implementation though.

my son happens to be (their batch actually) the first to be included in this program. they were trained and schooled after it. most of the modules needed in their learning were downloaded through the internet. when a module is printed, its almost as thick as a book itself. well, what about those public schools in our rural areas where they still havent seen a computer or whatever?

in theory, they can already be employed after finishing senior high school as they are adequately trained and knowledgable fundamentally.

but the govt and the labor sector should not stop there. what would they do with senior high school graduates who could afford to go to college anymore?

both the govt and the labor sector should give way to them, stop contractualization and provide them employment tenure. not doing this would tantamount to labor abuses as what our new graduates now are experiencing. contractualization happens in both public and private entities, very ironic. when the govt should be the leader in protecting its people.

deped isnt 100% capable of delivering its program throughout the country. one teacher interviewed in one of the tv news report, said that, she is still the one to photocopy the modules and copies to each of her students and just ask for payments later. what if her pupil doesnt have even his/her own baon? much more money to pay for a copy of his/her module?

one more thing is the inadequate supply of the even the most basic, that is, chalks. the teacher is the one who coughs out money to buy his own chalks. what about the other supplies? does the teacher still has to buy his own for better teaching?

during disasters, it is all known that public schools happens to be the first option as evacuation centers of victims of calamities. as of now, most places does have their own basketball courts, gymnasiums, convention centers, etc. for public use. why dont the natl govt and the lgus make it their first option instead during calamities and disasters?

public schools utilized as evacuation centers are also victims of calamities themselves. try to inspect one after all the families have left the school premises to return to their homes. chairs and tables were broken, toilets vandalized (try to wear gas mask before entering such), billboards torn down for them to sleep on, garbage all over the school, lootings of whatever kind, etc.

increase the salaries of teachers to attract more sr hs graduates to opt for education course in colleges and augment its teacher ratio to students. after all, most teachers, with or without the help from their higher ups, still live to their oath as educators of this land. they could even think twice of going abroad or staying here and practicing their chosen profession.

the national govt should be really serious in implementing this program as this serves as the backbone of our country in terms of development as a whole.

after all, we all came under the wings of our own teachers for, at least, a third of our life.

Ang importante na ma bago sa education system ng Philippines is ma recognised sya as international standards para pag nag apply ka Kahit saan sa mundo eh ma accept ang diploma mo sa Philippine school. Not like now na sasabihin sayo palagi na wala sa standard yung diploma mo from the Philippines lalo na kung sa USA, Canada, Europe na country ka mag aapply.

i am not against the k-12 program since the student will benefit from it in the long run... only problem i see is that it was implemented immediately without the proper support... there are almost no books available now with the revised curriculum... how can the teachers be effective without the proper tools... if the program is to gain ground, it should be ready and be given all the needed logistics for it to succeed...

Siguro ang pinakaunang dapat pagtuunan ng pansin sa issue na ito ay ang mga guro. Dapat talaga may salaan kung sino ang dapat magturo. Anong silbi ng K-12 kung kuyakoy naman ang mga guro.
