Begovic simply booted a backpass up the pitch and Southampton's central defenders let it take a big bounce between them, which goalkeeper Artur Boruc wasn't prepared for. The ball then arched over his head and bounced in for the goal.
According to Opta, Begovic is only the fifth goalkeeper to score in the Premier League era (Peter Schmeichel, Tim Howard, Brad Friedel and Paul Robinson being the other four). Even more amazing is the fact that this goal makes Begovic one of Stoke's joint top scorers this season.
Paul Smith was credited as holding the record for fastest goal scored by a keeper when he scored 23 seconds into Nottingham Forest's League Cup match against Leicester in 2007, but Begovic's goal beats that by a comfortable margin.
