NEW YORK (AP) -- LeBron James is the early vote-getter for the NBA All-Star game, edging Kevin Durant.

The Miami Heat star has 609,336 votes, while the Oklahoma City's Durant trails by about 2,000 votes in the first returns announced by the league on Thursday.

(Champions League) Arsenal through to last 16 as Napoli miss out

Naples (Italy) (AFP) - Arsenal qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League despite losing 2-0 away to Napoli on Wednesday, while the Italian side agonisingly miss out.

Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon both scored in the second half either side of Mikel Arteta's sending-off, but Borussia Dortmund's dramatic late 2-1 win in Marseille saw them go through as winners of Group F ahead of Arsenal and pushed Napoli into third place.

(Champions League) Sneijder sinks Juventus to send 'Gala' into last 16

ISTANBUL (AFP) - An 85th-minute strike from Wesley Sneijder secured a controversial 1-0 win for Galatasaray over Juventus and a place in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.

Galatasaray's second win in six games left them second in Group B on seven points, allowing the Turkish giants to join Real Madrid in the last 16 of the competition.

In the re-swim of the women’s 100 free at the 27 th Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar, the 20-year-old Filipina finished third behind the winning Thai swimmer whose protest prompted the jury to nullify Alkhaldi’s victory and ordered a new race from scratch.

(UFC) Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler Will Fight for Georges St-Pierre's Vacated Belt at UFC 171

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre decided that he had issues in his personal life that he needs to deal with, thus on Friday, St-Pierre announced that he is taking unprecedented step of taking a leave of absence and relinquishing his UFC belt.

St-Pierre had no answers for how long he would be stepping away, or if it might even be a permanent move that eventually becomes his retirement.

Not wasting any time in filling the huge gap that St-Pierre leaves behind, UFC president Dana White announced that the UFC would move swiftly to put the belt around someone else’s waist.

“March 15, Dallas, Texas, Johny Hendricks will fight Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC welterweight title,” White declared on Friday’s media call with St-Pierre.

(SEA Games) Unbeaten Sinag assured of SEA Games gold medal after Malaysia's loss to Thais

SINAG Pilipinas has clinched the gold medal in the 27th Southeast Asian Games after Malaysia lost to Thailand, 73-69, on Saturday at the Zayar Thiri Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

The Philippines, which beat Indonesia, 83-52, earlier in the day, was assured of its 16th gold in 17 editions of the SEA Games after Malaysia fell to a 3-2 card and Thailand improving its record to 4-1.
