(NBA) LeBron eyeing 500th straight double-digit game

MIAMI (AP) -- LeBron James is on the verge of another milestone.

The Miami Heat forward has scored at least 10 points in 499 consecutive regular-season games and will go for No. 500 on Tuesday night when the two-time defending NBA champions visit the Toronto Raptors.

(NBA) Cavs' Bynum isn't sure explosiveness will return

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers center Andrew Bynum is not sure he will regain his explosiveness after missing all of last season because of injuries to both knees.

The 7-foot Bynum said before Monday night's game against Minnesota that he still feels pain in his knees, but hopes his minutes will increase as the season goes on. He hoped to play in both halves of the game, his third appearance of the season.

Bynum admitted he isn't as explosive as he was when he played for the Los Angeles Lakers and wonders if that aspect of his game will return.

(Tennis) Djokovic grinds down Federer to keep Nadal on his toes

LONDON (Reuters) - Novak Djokovic ground down Roger Federer 6-4 6-7(2) 6-2 in his opening match at the ATP World Tour Finals on Tuesday to preserve his slim hopes of ending the year on top of the rankings.

Serbian Djokovic, who beat Federer in last year's final, must win at least two of his Group B matches to have any chance of toppling Rafael Nadal who opened his Group A challenge with an easy victory over David Ferrer earlier in the day.

(NBA) Durant shouldering even more of load for Thunder

Kevin Durant's sturdy shoulders seem to go on forever. Two of the longest arms you'll ever find drape from each end, and those shoulders remain straight.

It's a good thing, too. The weight of an entire franchise rests across his back.

At the start of Durant's seventh NBA season, it could be argued the Thunder have never needed him more than they do right now. And Durant has shouldered a heavy burden since he came into the league as an 18-year-old rookie in 2007, through his franchise's move from Seattle to Oklahoma City, a small market made so much bigger by his presence.

(NBA) Knicks' Chandler to miss 4-6 weeks with broken leg

NEW YORK (AP) -- Knicks center Tyson Chandler is expected to miss 4-6 weeks because of a broken bone in his right leg.

The team said Wednesday that tests showed no ligament or nerve damage and surgery is not required. Chandler left in the first quarter of a 102-97 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

He has a small fracture in the fibula in his lower leg.

New York is off to a 1-3 start after winning its first Atlantic Division title since 1994 last season. The Knicks will miss his defense and rebounding as they try to keep pace in the deep Eastern Conference.
