Revive the mandatory Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC) program among college students, the Association of Generals and Flag Officers (AGFO) said Wednesday.

The group said the current set up under the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2011 is not enough to instill patriotism among Filipinos.

In a statement, AGFO added, "The recent geopolitical developments in the Asia Pacific Region show the Philippines’ weakness in defending its territory."

The AGFO Chief Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Zagala welcomed the call, but said the program should be enhanced to attract more volunteers.

The ROTC program became optional in 2002 after Republic Act 9163, which establishes the NSTP, was passed.

Ok saken to,,actually when I was still in college I have lots of fond memories sa ROTC,,excited pa  ako lage pumasok nun and never akong nagabsent, Swerte din kasi yung company namin (BRAVO) sa tactical officer,,4 terms na di niya kami binigay sa iba,,never naming naexperienced na sumali sa alay lakad. me sinampal din siyang officer sa harap namin dahil pinagulong nila sa putikan yung isa naming ka platoon,,from then on wala ng kumanti sa BRAVO company ;D

para sa akin, it is good to have a some kind of military training sa mga pinoy para at least if there is war, not that i want war eh kahit papaano hindi eengot-engot sa paghawak ng baril... ang hindi ko lang gusto sa sinabi ni general is about depending our territory and patriotism,

May pros and cons ang ROTC,
pero we're living in modern times kung saan may U.N. na tayo to protect and support the interest of a sovereign state. In short we have already allies. It is most unlikely na magkaroon ulit ng World War 3. Abu Sayaff nga sa Mindanao di na natin ma solve e, paano pa kaya War with other countries diba? Kaya nga we kissed the ass of U.S.A. para maging ally sila lalo na with Military assistance.

M.I.L.K. is an epic photographic celebration of what it is to be part of a family, share the gift of friendship and more than anything else, to be loved. Inspired by the 1950s landmark photographic exhibition "The Family of Man", M.I.L.K. began as a worldwide search to develop a collection of extraordinary and geographically diverse images portraying humanity’s "Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship" (M.I.L.K.). This search took the form of a global photographic competition in 1999.

Walang kwenta ang ROTC due to the following reasons:
2. Sinasabing to defend the country, first of all dapat nilang iestablish muna kung dapat ba talagang ipagtanggol ang sh*t na bansang ito.

Yes, being a soldier is noble but it is also a stupid thing kasi magiging pawn ka lang sa mga namamahala.

while there are pros and cons in returning rotc , i still think that if guided and implemented properly, the country will benefit from the whole program...

Fact: Wars nowadays are not won by strategy but by technology.

Your fact is stupid.. There are a lot of conflict happening around the world and yet may nalaman ka bang gumagamit ng nuclear?

If its all about technology, why in Africa, the Nigerian government needs the help of its neighbours in order to tackle the group of Boko Haram which is a rag tag army?

In Iraq And Syria, despite the help of several nations like USA who have advanced technology, why they cannot defeat the group like IS and Al Nusra?

The Fall of France, the US defeat in Vietnam, this are few examples that will show you that with proper strategy, a smaller army can defeat a much bigger and powerful army..

Africa? ano ba ang level ng technology ng africa in the first place?

IS at Al Nusra? because of the political aspect however if situation would really require it matatalo naman eh.

Fall of France? in what era? Vietnam? 1960's pa yun yung panahong wala pang drones at smartbombs...
