Tips For Correct Condom Use

Condoms help prevent unwanted pregnancies and a variety of sixually transmitted diseases but condoms only work when used properly. These tips will help you use condoms properly so they are most effective.

Never open condom packages with scissors or any other sharp object.
Inspect condoms for damage before use.
Condoms need to be put on before sixual intercourse begins.
Uncircumcised men should always pull back his foreskin before rolling on the condom.
Smooth out any air bubbles after condom is rolled out on the penis.
Leave space at the tip of the condom for semen.
Never use oil-based lubricants with latex condoms.
Men should promptly withdraw after having sixual intercourse using a condom.
Hold on to the base of the condom during withdraw so that semen doesn’t spill out.
Using condoms properly prevents pregnancy in 98 percent of cases but the actual rate of condom failure resulting in pregnancy is 15 percent.
