A lot of NBA Teams in history had made a failure in terms of Personnel decisions and movements (Perhaps poor scouting reports) let me start with these lists.

1. Sam Bowie - 1984 (one of the best draft class) Picked as 2nd overall by Portland after Hakeem Olajuwon was picked 1st by Rockets, Sam Bowie's injuries kept him from achieving his potential as a pro averaging 10pts per game in 10 seasons. And Guess who Chicago picked as #3, Michael Jordan.

2. Darko Milicic - 2003 (Another Best draft Class) Picked as 2nd overall by Detroit Pistons after Lebron James, 7 footer Darko only averaged 4 pts per game last season. Carmelo Anthony, Wade, Chris Bosh, David West are still available .

3. Greg Oden - 2007 - Portland Once again made another bust, Choosing Greg Oden, After an injury-plagued start to his career that included micro-fracture surgery on his knee, Oden is a free agent after the Portland Trail Blazers released him at the end of the 2011-12 season. OKC Thunder then Chose Kevin Durant, now a three-time NBA scoring champ who led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012.

4. Kwame Brown - 2001, 6'11 1st overall pick chosen by MJ's Washington Wizards. He is now on his 7th team as a journeyman, He was chosen as 7th pick ahead of: Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, Gilbert Arenas, Tony Parker.

5. Vlade Divac (trade) 1996 - Charlotte Hornets, surprisingly trade their 13th First overall pick to LA Lakers for 6 year Veteran Center Vlade Divac - The 13th Overall Pick turns out to be none other than: Kobe Bryant.

dami palang oportunity ng portland sinayang nila haha , first si Bowie den si Oden , imagine kung nasa Portland si Jordan + drexler and cliff robinson ewan ko na lang haha . . .
tas si Durantula + Aldridge + B-Roy kahit short lived lang ang career tyak makaka ilang finals appearance yan . . .
Kung sakali lang naman hehe . . .

nabasa ko dati na in 1984, inoffer ng trailblazers sa rockets yung #2 pick and drexler for ralph sampson. the rockets turned down the offer. imagine if inaccept nila yun, they could have drafted olajuwon with the 1st pick, jordan with the 2nd then nasa kanila pa si drexler. Ang lakas sana nila.

I only started to really follow the NBA draft in 2003, with all the hype of Lebron James. Darko at #2 was really the biggest draft blunder in a top 5 draft class that included James, Anthony, Bosh, and Wade. Although, lots of teams were intrigued by the potential of international big man back then, and Darko did win a championship with Detroit before everybody else, heh.

Well atleast Shaq and Zo Mourning were chosen ahead of him and I think only latrell sprewell and robert horry are the well known players that weren't pick after him.

kaya naman di nila pinili si jordan kasi nasa kanila na si drexler. mas kelangan nila si bowie that time kasi naunahan sila kay olajuwon. and di rin nila alam na magiging ganun potential ni jordan. and is oden halimaw talaga, malaki rin expectation ko nung na-draft sya. olats lang na injured kaagad. parang si bowie. hehehe. malas lang talaga portland. pati si broy wala na.

Sa akin, si Greg Oden.
Top pick pero mahina naman ang tuhod.
Sayang lang.

Oden has a chance to revive his NBA career with the Miami Heat. Hopefully he stays healthy, and contribute some meaningful minutes for the defending champs.

statistically, Laettner had a better stats than Horry, but Horry won a lot of championships kaya naging mas well-known kaysa sa No. 3 pick that year.

It's not the championships, it's his 3 Point Clutch Shooting.

For me Kwame Brown is the worst draft pick in History. Darko is talented naman, mas magaling pa sya sa ibang nba players i.m.o., he just got drafted in a wrong team.

Yea Greg Oden sobrang sayang if it wasn't for his injuries.

Horry won 7 championships (2 with Houston, 3 with Lakers and 2 with Spurs), so palagay ko mas madami ito compared sa ipinukol nyang clutch 3s sa championship. Ung pinukol nya against the Kings (his most famous three-point shot) was for the Western Finals at di pa sa Finals.

And history favored (at ito ang natatandaan ng future basketball fanatics) those who won championships and not with who throw a clutch 3-pointer taht won a game for his team.
