well the power of both is unquestionable

but on toughness i have higher respect on hunt due to his

experience on k1 grand prix so betting for him

but bigfoot will be a test for him due to his height and power

he will be a prob for hunt if yes if he will move around but

knowing him i dont think so

Jon Jones on Gustafsson: I Use My Timing, My Rhythm, My Distance A Lot Better Than Him

There’s been a lot of comparisons between UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson leading up to their UFC 165 showdown, but Jones doesn’t think he and Gustafsson have anything in common.

“You have the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Jon Jones, taking on a guy who is extremely similar to him in style, in aggression and in skills, and that man is Alexander Gustafsson,” stated UFC and Fox commentator and former fighter Kenny Florian during the UFC 165 Extended Preview.

Jones couldn’t disagree more.

“I don’t really agree with any of the comparisons,” Jones said during a recent media conference call. “I think the only thing me and Gustafsson have in common is that probably we’re both 26 years old and the fact that we’re over six-feet tall, over six-foot-four.  Outside of that, we are completely different fighters.

“I’ve been able to study him a lot over the last several months and I realize there’s absolutely nothing he does that’s like me.  We’re just completely different.  We have the same height and age and that’s absolutely it,” added the champion.

One thing they do have in common is their reach.  They both enjoy a reach advantage against most opponents.  Jones will still have at least a three-inch reach advantage over Gustafsson, but Gustafsson's reach is likely the longest Jones has faced.

Even if their reach was equal, Jones believes he uses his length better than his Swedish opponent.

“Alexander, he has a long reach, and he’s tall.  I’m training with a lot of guys who are tall as well, who have really fast hands, are good with their hands and good with their kicks.  I just believe that I use my reach better,” said Jones.

Defense is another area Jones feels that he’s superior than Gustafsson.

“If you watch my fights and you watch Alexander’s fights, he gets hit a lot with a lot of different punches.  With me, I’ve gone through some fights where fighters have only punched me once.  When I fought Rampage Jackson, he hit me like twice in the whole fight.  Lyoto Machida was able to touch my face like twice in the whole fight,” said Jones.

“I’ve been fighting the best guys in the world and a lot of them never even get the chance to punch me in the face throughout the fight.  I just believe I use my timing, my rhythm, my distance a lot better than him.  I think the proof is in the pudding,” he added.

Alexander Gustafsson on Title Fight with Jon Jones: I Will Win This Fight, There’s No Doubt

It’s pretty rare in the fight game for a fighter to reveal his game plan prior to a bout, but Alexander Gustafsson isn’t hiding his strategy to defeat light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 165.

Jones is known to meticulously study video of his opponents in preparation for fights, but Gustafsson has been doing his homework as well.

“I’m studying a lot too. I do. And we try to break down Jon, his last fights, into pieces and try to move through everything. That’s what we do and how my coaches do it,” said Gustafsson on a recent media conference call.  “And I have 100-percent full trust in my coaches. I’m doing my homework here too, so just getting ready.”

Gustafsson’s training camp has been split between training in his native Stockholm and stateside at the Alliance Training Center in San Diego.  Camp has gone well and he believes that he’s ready to take Jones’ title on Sept. 21.

“The camp has been great. I’ve been home in Stockholm and I’ve been here with Team Alliance in San Diego. They’re great coaches, we have great guys I’m training with here. We’ve been taking in guys helping me out. So, I’ve just been blessed having such a good camp, and having such great guys around me. So, I’m just feeling great and I’m feeling ready,” he said.

“I’ve been training with a lot of guys the same as Jon, in many different weights, and I try always to be a better Alex for every fight. That’s what I try to do. I’m training my ass off and I just do improvements every day. And I’m feeling great and I can’t wait,” said the light heavyweight contender.

Gustafsson usually has a reach advantage over most of his opponents, but Jones has the longest reach in the division.  Despite being at a reach disadvantage, Gustafsson expects to win the fight on his feet.

“It’s not always about reach. It’s about footwork, it’s being fast, in and out. Stuff like that. And I’m really making sure I’ve really done my homework here and I’m super motivated,” he said.  “I will win this fight, me staying on the outside.  No doubt about it.”

how i wish if they would return that one

open weight fights are really gonna show who is the best in the world

maybe the could put a separate division which is open weight

so that only the willing fighters would fight for the real best pound for pound
