BSP hailed as Asia's best macroeconomic regulator
MANILA, Philippines - One of the leading financial consultancies in the region hailed Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) the 2013 Best Macroeconomic Regulator in Asia Pacific.
In a statement on Wednesday, April 24, the central bank regulator said the award was given during the Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Awards, which is considered as the largest annual gathering of professionals in Asia Pacific's financial services industry.
The Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Awards are "widely acknowledged" within the financial services circle as the "highest possible recognition" given to industry professionals in the region. Established in 2001, the awards are among the "most difficult and most exclusive accolades to win because to win because of the stringent evaluation process involved," the BSP said.
"The selection process is a rigorous one, completed over several months and involving feedback and interviews with all constituents who are in a position to comment on the candidates. All of these make this a world-class evaluation program, and the insights gained from the program are published in an annual report," Asian Banker said.
BSP Assistant Governor Ma. Cyd Tuano-Amador received the award in behalf of the BSP in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 23. - Rappler.com
