Now that I got your attention, ang ibig ko talagang sabihin is too much of PT can or may ruin your life, your social life that is. Too much of everything is bad. Sa isang topic ni bella, hinahintulad niya ang cocaine, marijuana of the 1980's to the current generation's Facebook, Twitter and other social media as things that destroy your interpersonal relationships with 'real' people. At nakita ko rin sa isang topic that we have members who are logging weeks and weeks of being on line sa PT. Sa isip ko lang, is this really a very productive way of spending your time? Could it be possible you are neglecting to do other essential things that make you function as a real person?

Lounging in Pinoytambay is a good way to relax for a few moment but it shouldn't be a means of escaping the realities of the world outside your room.

nobody or nothing can ruin my life except me! :) ;)
If you have a problem with me please write it nicely on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope, fold it up and shove it up your butt! :) ;)

I don't think that's the exact word ruin your life...bec when you say ruin...it destroys your life, it makes you unhealthy/sick.  We make choices in life to have fun, to be happy, to be entertained, to relax...and if we choose to be here on PT to relax then definitely PT doesn't ruin our life. Again, for as long as you will not overdo something it cannot ruin your life.  It's just a matter of managing your time.  In my case, i usually logged in and post topics and replies whenever i have free time, on my offdays, on breaks but i cannot be here 24/7.  I typed fast kaya in an hour i can post a lot of topics.  I wish i can stay longer eh di sana CM4 na ako agad.  :) :D ;)
Although i will admit that achieving the highest rank is my ultimate goal...i am challenged by it! and that's exactly the reason why i am here  :)  to have fun and at the same time achieved my ultimate goal..

I agree with Ms. Bella, for me naman this is no different from using other social media like FB or twitter, in my case I used to spend an hour or 2 sa FB, pero now cguro dna masyado mas madalas ng yung an hour or 2 a day is sa PT, so same lang din although one thing na nagustuhan ko d2 is almost andito lahat ng pwedeng topic and lots of useful infos, hindi siya katulad ng ibang forum or site na very limited at specific.

A little bit...but it is more on the good side effect...
Around 95% is good and the rest is bad...
Why the numbers? Because at the office, i sit around staring at the screen and waiting for updates...
Kapag meron na, post naman... I end up doing less work, but looking more like working... Pero cyempre halata pa din kapag 7-8 hours nasa harap lang ako ng computer screen...kaya i close all windows to avoid accidental viewing...and perform other responsibilities...
Minsan naapektuhan din ang pakiramdam ko ng post dito sa PT...cguro nga too much is not healthy...i've become too attached...hahaha
Kaya minsan YM na lang...hahaha

Ruin? In extreme cases maybe. Lalo na doon sa mga may tendency to obsess and be addicted to things.

It's recreation and entertainment. The problem with social media these days and some kids, they think life is what's on the tube, the monitor or the screen.

You have a problem, when you boast having thousands of friends on Facebook, yet none in real life.

You have a problem when you are content with masturbating to women you will never meet, instead of getting out there and meeting someone and enjoy real intimacy, and not a facsimile of one.

I guess the addiction to social media is not too far from the addiction to porn. Both are dopamine inducing, and both can be done at the click of a button.

Sabi nga nila, things too stupid to say are often sung.

These days, it's very easy to say what we want, even things too silly to say under the cloak of relative anonymity afforded to us by the internet.

Anyway, fun lang ito dapat. Nothing too serious. Life is out there.

Ruin? It maybe  the case on someone who's life revolves on this site .

In my case, I find this site as substitute to my idle time. E.g. when waiting for a feedback to my reports, when im in travel, or going to some place which requires long sitbacks. In these cases where there's nothing you can do but to wait in vain, then I open PT to divert my attention and viola, i already reached that place.

PT, also flushed away toxics and clogs in my mind. I mean, when your mind is thinking too much and work so hard, this site diverts my attention temporarily and to rest a bit.

The TS is right, it will ruin some essential in your life if you tend to focus all your energy in this site. Ika nga sa kanta,  Too much love will kill you

You are all so strong-willed and disciplined. I'm glad.

There was a time na I was totally locked on sa PT. It was in my mind 90% of my day. Pagkagising pa lang, punta na sa site para basahin ang mga responses sa post ko. While going to work, nagiisip ng mga topics to share. At work, logging in almost every hour. Sneaking time writing my six stories in between work. Pag uwi, nagdedeliberate sa isip kung paano mag reresponse sa mga controversial subjects and post. And then set the laptop for non-stop rapid fire reading, commenting and posting topics up to late night hanggang pagtulog. I eat in front of the monitor and not with my family. Naging maputla ako dahil I just stayed in my room. I became slightly fat because of lack of exercise. And I ended up having no friends, no hobbies, no sports, stop reading books and no social interactions sa community. I have become a prisoner due to my obsession sa PT, a specter of my old active self trapped in the cocoon of virtual camarederie sa Pinoytambay. Then it suddenly hits me, an epiphany came one day na nagbukas sa aking pagkatao na I'm neglecting my loved ones and myself, that the real world and real people are out there. Nothing can still replace the sound of laughter and the smell of freshly cut grass.
