Late 20's palang ako kaya hindi ko din sure kung bakit. May article akong nakita dati about it kaso hindi ko naman binasa.

Hulaan ko nalang. Maybe because pag 40 ka na ay you can maximize reaping the benefits of all your hard work? Guess ko lang po yan.

life begins at 40....by this time one knows what he/she wants and knows how to get it and make the most out of it.

by this time u already can look at ur not so good experience as a lesson to learn and not as ur failure,and ur happy experience as a treasure to keep and to bring along.... one knows how and when to use his/her wisdom...then u appreciate life and make it worthwhile.

...i think it started in europe...particularly UK... during the medieval era the life expectancy then was somewhere in the 25-30 years... then came the industrial revolution in the 20th century, gadgets came such as washing machine and the like... pipol then started to enjoy such things with life expectancy became 40-50 years...and during this time pipol are already retired from working and sort of start a new life, aka - life begins at forty...

40 kasi ang age na inaasumme na naattain mo na ang stability sa buhay.. financial, emotional, etc

All the comments here so far are good points. When a person reach the age of 40 it's the middle part of once life. They call it middle age. So if you live to be 80 you've the reach the mid part of your life. That's when you, I believe start thinking gee I better start enjoying life more. So you start doing things a little more that in past you would not normally do to have fun.
