Ako isa ring Mountaineers/Hiker Sir, but during the old days all climbers must have MS seminars. Sadly with the new trend of mountaineers who climb the beautiful peaks of the Philippines. Also a lot of trash and destruction of the natural fauna. Basta may bag at tent akyat na wala nang basics kaya pagdating sa taas ng bundok ayon kung ano gawi nila sa baba ganon din sa taas.I remember pa noon sa group which I belong all climbers must have their own personal first aid kit etc. At lahat ng gamit na may plastic altimo balat ng candy it will be counted pagbaba mo kasama sa mga basura mo na ibababa dapat. Bawat kalat na makita mo dampot. Even the number of cigarettes na pde mo sindihan sa taas kasama sa training at dapat pati un ibaba mo ang butts. Ngayon grabe ibang group literally they don't even have camp management eh. Sayang sana may magturo sakanila. Although their are some groups who personally ask for MS skills training. And sa net a lot of materials can be downloaded na they just need to read and understand it. Hopefully magkaroon ng unified climb just for clean up lang. Sayang kase dami nang bugbog na bundok at tambak ng basura. Sa taas at daan going to the mountains. Nawala nadin kase ang National Federation eh dati very active cla. Dami na kaseng free lunch group.
Johnfitch Mir - Sir natuwa ako sa list mo hahaha.Sir monde pagdating po sa equipment's it depends on your budget. A lot of expensive equipment flooded our market. I won't name name's nalang. But for the tent's and backpack I go to local manufactures. Kase it is less expensive but the quality at par as foreign brand. I'm also happy that still a lot of groups, still carry the creed and value it. Nature is free for all but we have the responsibility to take care of it. We are lucky in terms of natural resources. Every mountain has it's own characteristics of flora and fauna and sometimes it is endemic to that place. And we meet people with a diverse culture. Kaya if we can support local products go for it.
