Bakit mahal magbiyahe dito sa Pilipinas?

Frustrated ako dito talaga.
Mas mahal pa ang pamasahe ng papuntang Palawan kaysa papuntang Hong Kong or China or Singapore.
I always prefer travelling locally, than overseas.
Presyong dollar kumbaga.
Sa Thailand, ine-encourage nila ang local tourism by providing different set of price (mas mababa siyempre) para sa mga locals.
Pera-pera lang ba talaga?

YES, the government is more concerned with generating income (or is too lazy to regulate the fare prices charged by the airlines for local travel).

Also, we do not provide subsidies to the airlines for local travel.

aba bakit nga ba ganyan sa Pinas.... hmmm.... anyway, the way i see it kung ganyan ang patakaran ng local gov't eh wala na tayong magagawa dyan kundi ang magdasal na lang... pera pera na nga lang talaga... gawin naman kasing mura para sa mga locals eh aminin man natin or not todo samantala naman ang pinoy to the point na ang disiplina ay hindi binabaon... dudumihan ang lugar gaya ng Palawan which is a prestine destination in the world... look at the case of Boracay, malinis pa ba ang beach duon? hmmm... commercialization sinks in when tourism flourishes and it's a matter of weighing things at the expense of Juan Dela Cruz... a hard pill to swallow but it's the reality... naturingan na summer capital ang Baguio City but what is Baguio City right now, maganda pa bang puntahan? i doubt... if only we can duplicate the discipline of the people of Singapore then this thread can be invoked...sayang talaga...

i agree with the insights here... i remember during the time of arroyo that the dot was encouraging the people to explore the philippines the reason for her weekend holiday economics... but much as the local juan wants to go, the cost is high that they just prefer to stay at home rather than spend much going to this places... hope the next government would do something about this...

It's probably because the standard of prices are in dollars at nde sa peso. Tour operators must offer more tour packages para affordable din naman  talaga.  Although meron mga discounted offers nde maiwasan meron pa ren mga ibang charges plus the travel tax of course.

pero on the other hand mura ang hotel rooms sa pinas.

nakapag-reserve ako ng aircon na oceanfront room sa isang beach resort for the equivalent of US$42 a night!! may kasama nang free breakfast yun. sa abroad napaka-swerte mo kung may makuha kang less than US$200 a night na oceanfront room aba. dito sa lugar namin ang oceanfront na room starts at US$400 a night!!

Cebu pacific yun.
