Spending Holy Week at our old house. I found these contraptions and I'm wondering what they're called.

Those look like old ceramic insulators.
They were popular in prewar times - usually used to prevent high voltage electricity from touching the house frame.

Sir Bohica, Tama ka po. Kapag wala pang conduit gnayan talaga ginagamit to align electrical wirings.

Based on my observation, safe at maganda ang pagkakagawa. Yung ceramic holder is still intact. Mayroon din conduit pero kahoy lang po kasi dati at wala pa metal o pvc conduit. Kahit wala junction box they've use mecca tube instead to make connection safe. Please check lang ang wire insulation if meron na damage o exposed copper wire.
