if you can afford your child to go to a private school, then do it sir... the quality of education is better as well as the facilities... they are better guided and monitored than students in public school... but don't get me wrong, if you can't really afford a private school, then make sure to guide your child more in his studies... be proactive with the curriculum needs of your child...

Private talaga maganda. Galing ako sa public then nagprivate ako.

PUBLIC.

You know what I'm saying? HAHA. Gulo.

Basta sa public kasi, maraming checks and balances both from the side of the student and the school.

Nope.

Siyempre 'yung iba sasabihin ay "U.P." dahil sa 1.) doon sila nag-aral (which is also applicable sa ibang university), 2.) dahil "U.P." 'yan eh or the likes base. This also applies sa iba pang private schools and universities.

Kaya at the end of the day, for me, kung tatanungin kung saan ba talaga mas magandang university. Whether it'd be state or private. Ang iniisip madalas ay kung ano ang "bang for the buck" na university at kung anong "experience" ang habol mo in terms with kung anong "experiences" ang napag daanan mo sa buhay. Kung mayaman ka, mas marami kang choice. Kung hindi, most probably state university ang pipiliin mo.

Just like me, noong bata ako, naranasan ko both private and public.

sorry hukay yung thread...
UP Diliman nga top sa Pinas pero natanong mo ba sa sarili mo kung saang mga iskwelahan galing ang nakakapasok sa UP Diliman?

Mostly eh galing private.... Marami rin naman public galing pero most of them eh galing sa science highschools which are not your typical public schools...
Ganito lang yan eh:

pisay > other science schools > private schools > ordinary public schools

Ill be talking about the different kids na makakasalamuha sa public and private. Since pag dating sa education, i could say na equal naman yan, depende lang talaga sa magiging guro na maassign sayo or to your kids. So back to the topic:

In public, with the kids these days you really have to think twice especially pag nasa metro manila, lalo na't usually nasa lower bracket ang mga nakakapasok dito, madalas iba ang influence ng mga bata dito. Though di ko namn nilalahat but still iba iba ang culture ng pagpapalaki ngayon ng mga kids. Pag sa metro manila, fast paced ang pagpapalaki sa mga kids, puro gadgets, trends and everything na makikita mo sa mainstream media ang influence sa mga kids so expect for you or your child to be influenced by this. Iba naman ang case sa province, since mejo layed back ang mga tao sa provinces, mejo old school pa din dito ang kids but depende sa lugar since madaming probinsya na din ang updated with the trends.

With private, though nasasala yung mga kids, meron padin talagang out of control na makakasalamuha.

Better you do research, kamusta ang status ng eskwelahan, number of students, teachers, type of students, budget, and lahat ng aspects na makakaaffect sa bata. Vicinity, community and etc.

I start and ended in a Private School from Nursery till College, in my Own opinion, nasa tao na yun if anong kakalabasan niya sa pagaaral at sa suma ng buhay niya.

Sa Private more on books sa Public more on application. Hmmmm, and for me mas okay sa private since makakapag concentrate yung bata, although madaming possible maging BI dahil madaming may pera diyan, still if maayos pinalaki ang bata, magiging maayos din siya sa school kahit ano mang piliin sa dalawa.

I grew up with a terror mom  :P HAHAA. From nursery (matalas memory kaya alala ko pa) till HS yeah terror, nung College lang ako tsaka nagiba =D

i've been to both public and private schools.  i graduated from a public elementary school, and from a private high school.

and I could say, nakadepende talaga sa estudyante at guro ang kalalabasan. When it comes to teachers, "supposedly" lamang ang mga public schools. why? kasi hindi ka pwede maging teacher sa public schools if you don't pass the Licensure Exams for teachers - meaning, kailangan, board-passer ka.  That is a requirement sa Civil Service.  Some private schools accept under-board educ graduates, because they (teachers) cannot demand a higher pay (simply because they are not board passers), and licensed teachers can demand for a "certain" pay.

Back then, 80's and 90's, I could say that our public school teachers are very competent. Strict yet very competent. It really takes two to tango. I've experienced na walang libro or di kaya 3 kame sa isang libro in elementary, but that did not stop me from topping my class all through out my elementary years. And I was in the top 10 when I graduated from a private HS.

Both private and public school have flaws. They both have "goods", and some "bads". No school is perfect.  What is needed is, the parents, should always guide, and support the child. It's not the school's sole responsibility to education the child.  The parents, in cooperation with the teacher and school, will education the child properly.

i agree mostly on your observation sir... though there is one major difference that i can see... the environment of a private school is more conducive to studying than in a public school...

Try mo ginawa sakin ng parents ko. From kinder to grade 3 nag private school. Then 4-college public na.

M.I.L.K. is an epic photographic celebration of what it is to be part of a family, share the gift of friendship and more than anything else, to be loved. Inspired by the 1950s landmark photographic exhibition "The Family of Man", M.I.L.K. began as a worldwide search to develop a collection of extraordinary and geographically diverse images portraying humanity’s "Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship" (M.I.L.K.). This search took the form of a global photographic competition in 1999.
