Bohi's comments:  Dr. Sanjay Gupta, noted CNN Medical Correspondent recently apologized and stated that the US public was misled about marijuana and its effects on people.  His statements is one of the reason which led to the legalization of marijuana in some states in the US.

What about you Ka-PT?  Are you in favor of marijuana being legalized here in the Philippines?  Yes or No?  Why?

Maybe in the future but not now.  We simply don't have the mechanism to regulate it.  Isa pa, kailangan pa nating iestablish ang intellectual, moral and social responsibility that comes in selling and buying marijuana.

True to that, as I was raised in the Philippines, one thing i likely see is giving considerations, siguro it would be a positive and a negative trait depends on how you do it. Pero tulad ko, I was 10 when I tasted alcohol and it's influenced by elders, isa pa nga doon pulis. I started to smoke tobacco since I was 15, ako pa nga bumili at nakauniform pa. And I've even met an 8 year old kid smoking....

Unless magbulag-bulagan ang government sa paligid, legalizing marijuana will be far from promotion.

It's not that we're undermining the Filipino's propensity to exercise prudence but as what Tony said, ignorance ng ibang mga magulang o nasa autoridad sa consequences ng kanilang permissive behaviour ang isang malaking balakid kung bakit hindi pa uubra ang ganitong systema.

The key is policy for its regulation.

If I were to create such I would require TIN ID or E1/E4 form as a basic requirement. You have money for weed, then you must have a job and paying your taxes. Isama na natin changes to the LTO policies to include DUI offenses.

I don't mind if government taxed it heavily. As long as there's access to legal grass and that quality is assured.

napanood ko din ito sa jessica soho kahapon.. about a doctor's daughter suffering from seizures... and can only be stable by using medicinal marijuana.... but..... like my brother said.... it will have serious consequences pag nalegalize ang marijuana....
magkakaroon ng shortage ng supply ng vegetables sa ating bansa.... why???
simply because the vegetable producers will then shift their plantation to marijuana instead... bakit??? kasi mas malaki ang kita dito kesa magproduce sila ng vegetables....

With our present government, anything can go wrong. As most of us were all aware the bad side of marijuana and with the kind of discipline that this country badly needs then I'll see a lot of bums on the street. But on the positive note, it will attract more foreigners who badly wants to smoke it freely within our zone. Giving a boost to our tourism.

No. Walang disiplina karamihan ng pinoy.

Not in favor. Same thoughts with imoy. If it will be legalized, even those na hindi gumagamit eh magiging curious na subukan yan. Nako mas dadami mga tripper at posibleng mga gumawa pa ng krimen kung di nila macontrol ang amats nila.

I have to admit, I don't know much about this subject, a lot of people know more about this than me.

They presented some compelling evidence na makakatulong siya for people with certain medical conditions, okay yan. Who am I to say no sa mga tao and families who are suffering an affliction and the cure or the at least the relief would be coming from this plant.

My hesitation comes from legalizing for recreational use or the like, why? To some people, marijauna could be the "gateway" drug, sure some people would have the discipline and sensibility to know when to stop, pero some don't. Sometimes nag umpisa sa marijuana, then to meth, to coke, to heroin etc. Something touted to help other people becomes poison. Just like some substances used to be legally sold in drug stores till they found out its devastating effects.

I'm only saying there is a risk that a Pandora's box could be opened for some people, and that's a risk I would rather we don't take lalo na with our drug problem here on our country and our poverty. People will definitely abuse this once we go that route.
