Based sa experience ng yaya ko (took care of me for 12 years) she lives at Santa Fe Leyte. Just recently we contacted her since naibalik na yung signal sa lugar nila. She was crying kasi wala na silang bahay, and they managed to survive by hiding under the sink. Local government (and even the PAGASA) told them na "di daw malakas yung bagyo" a night before the storm surge happened. After their near death experience with Yolanda, wala daw masyadong tulong ang nakaka abot sa kanila. I and my family assured her that we will go there personally and help them rebuild their lost home, and help their community as well at maiparating sa government that their effort is not enough!

As I realized, nagiging pulitika na rin yung reason kung bakit di naiaabot yung tulong sa kanila despite na maraming tulong from private sectors. Sigh :(

same what my uncle said from tacloban..

the announcement said to them it's only a typical storm..

then when it came they lost their house.. he and his 2 kids where washed

away from his wife.. and for almost a week they reunited..

on the first 4days after the storm there was no help or relief right away..

its true that most of the help where poured down on tacloban 1st

but they didn't receive it right away.. due to those some politicians

who argue with the red cross, and the opposition of some politicians

held delay of the help..

I'm glad your uncle's family are safe now. Must be really hard for them during those days.

Yes. The government is doing alot for the victims of yolanda...

1. They are not giving the goods that came from foreign donations.
2. Instead of giving the goods free, the govt (dti) helps manufacturers to sell their products at a lower price to the victims whom got nothing.
3. Noynoy likes to fight with those people who are againts pdaf rather than battling with the problems of the victims that yolanda made.
4. Noynoy is doing a lot of talk rather than show actions by helping yolanda victims.

Atbp... Dami nilang nagawang puro negatibo....

yeah the president do  talk a lot..

before the storm he said that the government is prepared for it

then after the storm he said that those local government officials

didn't do their job.. PNoy has the habit on pointing people

just to put the blame on them

may kasabihan kapag may itinanim may aanihin.

Just to remind you also that this thread's objective is to know the thoughts of our fellow PT about the local and national government's lackluster performance. If you really read the previous posts, then you'll learn that even the congresswoman Lucy Torres can't do anything about the government's inconsiderate system.

I and my family, my colleagues and friends already did our part to help the victims. Pero syempre alam namin kulang pa rin yun and as I said in my previous posts, we will go there personally to help them.

Ganyan din yung initial thoughts ko after the typhoon ended, I see a lot of rants sa twitter and FB and asked myself if those people ever did anything to help the victims. Palagi mo rin maiisip na sa dami ng tumulong from the private sectors and other countries hindi ramdam ng mga biktima yung tulong. Why? How did that happened?

Live with it! Na embrace na natin yung democracy, if it wasn't for the revolution we won't even have the freedom of speech kahit alam na natin mali yung nangyayari! Unfortunate lang na we have incompetent and corrupt leaders. Heck kulang pa yung adjectives to describe our politics.

hindi sapat ang preparedness ng government

but come to think of it...

enough ba ang resources natin kahit masyado tayo prepared? we are dealing here major super typhoon...

is the government doing enough? of course NO

AGAD AGAD?
