(UFC) UFC Fight Night 38 Weigh-in Results: Shogun Rua vs. Dan Henderson Rematch Gets Green Light

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson fought to what most consider the Fight of the Year when they threw down for five rounds at UFC 139 in late 2011. Fans have been clamoring for a rematch ever since, and now they'll get it at Sunday's UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

The fighters stepped on the scale at weigh-in at Ginasio Nelio Dias on Saturday, finally making the 12-bout fight card official.

Neither main eventer typically has issues making weight, and neither did on Saturday. Henderson stepped on the scale at 202 pounds, three pounds below the 205 limit. Shogun, meanwhile, was dead-on at 205 pounds, giving their fight the green light.

(UFC) UFC Fight Night 38 Results: Dan Henderson Stops Shogun Rua in the Third Round

Dan Henderson earned a technical knockout over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event at UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil on Sunday night.

Henderson came back from being down two rounds to none, landing a powerful right hand that began the end of the contest, which ended at 1:31 of the third round.

“This one probably means more than most,” Henderson said in his post-fight interview.”I was a little too patient I think in the beginning of the fight and it just means a lot more to me than most fights to fight and beat a guy like Shogun.”

(La Liga) Spain hails 'historic' Barca-Real duel

Madrid (AFP) - Barcelona's thrilling 4-3 away victory over Real Madrid was one of the greatest 'clasico' clashes in history, Spain's press said Monday, declaring the La Liga title race now wide open.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi, helped by Andres Iniesta, conquered the Bernabeu, papers said, after the Argentinian scored a hat trick that made him the most prolific scorer in the history of 'clasico' matches between the arch rivals.

"Barcelona emerged the victors in all aspects of a frenetic night of football and goals, one of the best duels that the eternal rivalry between the two giants of the Liga has produced," wrote leading sports daily Marca.

(Premier League) Chelsea crush Arsenal on Wenger’s special day

Chelsea humiliated Arsenal with a 6-0 victory on Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge for Arsenal.

Chelsea scored first on five minutes when Samuel Eto’o curled a left-footed shot past Wojciech Szczesny from the edge of the box, just after Olivier Giroud wasted a great chance. Three minutes later, Andre Schurrle made it two from the same spot after receiving a pass from Nemanja Matic.

On 15 minutes, Eden Hazard’s shot, already going wide, was handled by the diving Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Andre Marriner then mistakenly sent Kieran Gibbs off as the match descended into farce. Hazard converted the penalty, stroking it down the middle of the goal.

(Boxing) Sabillo dethroned as Rodriguez scores 10th round TKO win to wrest WBO title

PHILIPPINE boxing got off on the wrong foot for 2014 as the country loses one of its reigning world champions following the defeat of Merlito Sabillo to Mexican Francisco Rodriguez Jr. on Sunday (Manila time).

Sabillo’s reign as World Boxing Organization (WBO) minimumweight champion came to an end as Rodriguez dethroned the Filipino following a 10th round technical knockout at the Arena Monterrey in Mexico.

Referee Eddie Claudio put an end to the 12-round fight when he waived off the champion just as Sabillo was under heavy fire on the ropes from the young Mexican challenger.

(Tennis) Andy Murray reaches 4th round at Sony Open

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) -- Andy Murray won Sunday while Ivan Lendl watched as a fan rather than as a coach.

With Lendl among the stadium spectators, Murray advanced to the fourth round at the Sony Open by beating Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 6-1. The tournament is the first for the two-time Key Biscayne champion since he parted with Lendl, who coached Murray for two years and helped him become a Grand Slam champion.

''We're back together again. It was only a four- or five-day split,'' Murray joked. ''No, it's a shame he won't be watching many more of my matches from the stands.''
