The first episode sets the tone for the whole series.  I got attached to this after watching the first episode.

Puro chick flick tv shows po a :-D well you're a girl so it's cool. Since napanood mo na po yung first episode, atleast you have an idea on what's the show is all about.

For starters, I'll go first for two of the most legit critic website's ratings:

IMDB: 9.5/10 (HIGHEST RATING for a TV Show)
METACRITIC: : 9.7/10 (user's ratings), 9.9/10 (metascore) (Consistently the Highest Rating for a TV Show)

If you have time, try reading their reviews muna, kasi andun na rin yung gusto ko sabihin pero I'll try to persuade and influence you and other users here on why it is an excellent tv series and deserves your attention. Just let me know.

It appealed to me because it can happen in reality.  I like to watch films and shows which afterward I can say to myself "shit this could happen".

Actually yan din ang sinabi sa akin ng boss kong Irish-national.... boring daw at mabagal ang phasing... nasa season 1 pa lang din sya...

It could really happen, sa season 1, desperado sya na mabigyan ng magandang future ang pamilya nya, kaya ang isang matinong Chemistry teacher (na may stage 3 cancer) ay nakarating sa Drug business...

I agree na medyo "chick flick" yung post mo miss xkatrina... ang pinakamalapit na sa mga yun sa Breaking Bad ay ang Walking Dead (na parehong gawa ng AMC).

Kung "Weeds" ay isa sa pinapanood mo, yun ang medyo lighter side ng Breaking Bad...

Gusto ko sana magstart i-discuss yung ilan sa mga best episodes nito.... pero baka di ko mapigilan ang maglagay ng spoilers...

Ako, I started watching Breaking Bad noong time na napansin kong laging nananalo si Bryan Cranston ng Best Actor sa Emmy Awards. Nasa season 3 na ata sila noon nung sinimulan kong panoorin season 1.

Sa tingin ko, enough nang reason to watch the show - "because of Bryan Cranston."

Unlike Game of Thrones, or Walking Dead na may reference from a book and comics, Breaking Bad started as an Idea from Vince Gilligan (x-files). The show's team of writers did an extensive research based on facts and reality which is a perfect source material in writing a story. It's a perfect mix of science, violence and suspense, surely you will learn a lot of things. No offense to CSI kasi i watched numerous episodes and if you've been watching it for a long time, eventually you'll get tired of it kasi halos pare pareho yung premise per episode. Unlike Breaking Bad that you will have no idea what's going to happen next, and expect the unexpected.

When I'm done with the first episode, these are the few out of numerous questions that I asked about this show:
How long can Walter White lie about his career on cooking crystal meth to his family? What happens if his DEA Agent brother in law caught him doing those stuff? Will he survive that cancer? What story can he provide when he gets caught with those huge amount of money? Will he become the king of crystal meth drug industry? Looks common right? Pero wait until they portray those scenarios, with the drama and intensity behind it. This is the show that gets better per season. So wait til you get to the last season, the best and most intense season in a history TV series.

If napansin mo I always tell that you guys will learn to love certain characters from this show. It's because of the character development from this show (kudos to their superb acting), which for me is very important and necessary in story build up. Kaya it was so intense that from a minute that certain character will make a mistake that spells trouble for our main character. Despite that our main character is a dying science chemistry dude who relies on logic & reason thus relying on his knowledge for a graceful and awesome way to get out of trouble. That alone, is a great reason to watch it. Never I have ever witness an actor portray a dying man who choose a villainous career to provide for his survival and to improve his family's status. That's why Bryan Cranston and Breaking bad is being lauded as the one of the best actor and best TV series ever.
