Aging, no matter how much we want to avoid it, is part of life. Old age, however, does not have to be a time of severe mental and physical decline, many older persons live full, independent lives, are active in their community and they are making positive contributions to society. However, not everyone realizes that they can slow down  age related mental and physical declines and age well by making a few  positive lifestyle changes, including:

Keeping Active

Use it or lose it as the saying goes. If muscles are not used, they start to lose  flexibility. Moderate activity is essential to maintaining mobility.

Getting Enough Sleep

Sleep requirements vary from person to person but the average senior needs at least six and a half hours of sleep per night for peak mental and physical health.

Keeping On Top Of Health Issues

Simple problems, like foot problems, can cause older persons to limit their mobility. Incontinence (not a normal part of aging) also inhibits older persons from staying active in the community  Staying on top of health issues before they limit activities is important.

Approach To Aging

A person’s approach to aging has a major impact on their mental and physical health. Adapting and responding to changes in personal health before they become a debilitating issue is important. An older person with a healthy attitude won’t stop their community involvement because of a health issue, they will adapt and maintain their activities.

Very nice tips..

Maging handa lang talaga tayo na tanggapin na tumatanda na tayo para hindi na masyado stressful sa utak..

Dagdag na rin na dapat mag ipon para sa future na wala ng masyadong problema sa pagtanda.

tama yan,,... kaya nga importante yung mga goverment agencies like sss at pag ibig, makakatulong talaga sila kapag tumanda na tayo... malaking tulong sila dahil sa pensyon na makukuha natin every month...

As the saying goes,growing older is compulsory but growing up is a choice hehe..tanggapin kung yon na edad na tumatanda na pero not mean naman na because your old na you can only act like old..pedi rin nman maging active like young .. :D

woow naman, yung mindset kasi nila ang hindi maiiwasan, ayaw talaga tanggapin, anyway dapat unawain nalang pag ganun at alalayan sila ano man ang gagawin nila... pero wag ipamukha sa kanila na matanda na sila at hindi na nila kaya

Anyway thanks for the post bro. Ganun talaga, we all age. Maswerte na nga tayo than sa ibang generations na 20-30 ang average lifespans. Nowadays septuagenarians are very common and living a relatively active lifestyle.
