Davao City PNP

Here's an incident that happened today na nakaka proud sa PNP here in Davao.

----

Three suspected kidnappers shot dead, victim rescued in Davao City

Three suspected kidnappers were gunned down and another one was apprehended in Davao City yesterday morning while police operatives were able to rescue a Chinese businesswoman who was abducted in Quezon City last week.
Operatives of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) successfully rescued Sally Chua, a resident of San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City.
During the operation, three suspects were shot dead and one was apprehended while more than 10 other cohorts managed to escape.
Police investigation showed that Chua was abducted by the kidnap-for-ransom group in Quezon City on July 5.
She had been taken by at least 14 suspects to Davao via a roll-on-roll-off vessel (RORO).
Chua was forced by the group to withdraw P15 million from an Allied Bank in downtown Davao.
The kidnap group initially demanded Chua some P150 million as ransom payoff. During the course of negotiation, the demand was lowered to P15 million.
Chua and the suspects agreed that the victim will be the one to withdraw the money at the Allied Bank branch situated along CM Recto Street, Davao City at 12 noon yesterday.
It was learned that the suspects were armed with .45 caliber pistol. The suspects were said to be from Bukidnon, Samar and other nearby provinces.
As the bank transaction is being held, combined force of Davao police units and Metro Manila operatives were able to intercept the suspects before they could even leave the bank.
The suspects were in three brand new Montero SUVs.
Region XI police director Chief Supt. Jaime Morente said the suspects tried to shoot the police.
Morente disclosed that at least 10 suspects managed to escape on board a white Montero SUV, one was captured while three of them were shot dead. Chua was rescued.
Local police set up checkpoints on the possible routes of the at-large suspects as they are conducting pursuit operations.
Davao City police chief Senior Supt. Ronald de la Rosa said they have been monitoring the group since Wednesday.
In a local radio interview, Chua admitted that he was the one who suggested that the payoff transaction be done in Davao City since she was confident that the suspects would be caught there.
Chua also said that the kidnappers even booked him on a flight back to Manila yesterday afternoon and even brought fruits as pasalubong.

Halos across the street lang namin ang pinangyarihan. While it was happening akala ko may mga nagpapaputok lang dahil malapit lang din kami sa People's Park kaya akala ko dun galing ang mga fireworks or something. Then nung hapon pagbili ko ng meryenda sa baba ng building eh nakita ko na may press at maraming umuusisa a few steps away from where I was. Then yun nakita ko ang pinangyarihan ng eksena pero wala na mga bangkay nung time na yun. Yung Montero na ginamit nalang nakita ko dun and SOCO operatives together with some people from the press.

Sa interview sa news sa tv sabi ni Davao City PNP Director na para sa mga matinong mamayan "Davao: Life is here" pero para sa mga masasamang loob "Davao: Your life ends here". Good job!

Korek ka diyan sir monde8, so proud to be a davaoeno after that shootout.

Life is Here in Davao

Transportation

Tricyboat (tricybot) - Tricycle na parang jeep. It functions like a jeep too in the sense na may ruta siya. Tricyboat can accomodate ten passengers.

animazoo thanks for the correction sir.

Hagimit Falls in Samal Island

We went to Hagimit Falls in Samal Island.

How to get there muna:

We rode the RORO in Sasa Wharf then pagdating sa Samal Island ay nag bus na biyaheng Penaplata and dun na kami bumaba sa dulo sa tinatawag na Warehouse. Yung warehouse ay parang supermarket and hardware in one sa sobrang dami ng nabibili. Frome the warehouse ay sumakay ng single motorcycle for 20 pesos each papunta sa Hagimit Falls.

Entrance fee for adults is 40 pesos and for kids 2-7 years old ay 20 pesos.

The place is like a hidden paradise. Sarap mag tampisaw at lumangoy langoy sa malamig na tubig. Very relaxing din magpa masahe sa falls.

Whether you go there alone or in a group, you'll surely enjoy it. One with nature ang peg.

There are cottages for rent para may mapag iwanan ng gamit and place to eat. Smallest cottage good for up to 4 persons is only 150 pesos and there are bigger ones as well. May rooms for rent din if you wish to stay overnight. Yung natanong ko na concrete room is only 700 pesos and can accomodate up to 5 persons.

There's a store there that sells snacks, softdrinks, and liquor. No restaurant so you better bring your own food.  May mga ihawan area naman para magluto.

I have nothing to say more aside from we'll definitely go back there again. We enjoyed it so much kagaya ng sa paborito kong Dahican Beach.

Here you go with the pics that we took while we were there:
