The Willow Tree


There i sit under the tree
One branch touching down
And as my feet touched a bark
I realized the color wasn't brown

There were drops among the leaves
And there were spots upon the ground
And i could not but help myself
Jumping off with my hand reaching  down

I touched the drop
Touching it with my fingertips
And my eyes could not take my stare
Off that swaying leaves

The leaves flying.. Dancing..
Cavorting with the lights
Baring a picture of broken wings
That have Fallen the previous nights

It lay nestled , in one sturdy branch
Warmly covered , in bed of leaves
And as the Wind carress each breath
A f'licker of life pats the broken wings!

I looked down and wait until
A green leaf  landed just above my knee
