Kung yung sa panununog ng gamit sa PUP eh ang tingin mo eh peaceful way of expression, at yung mga rally sa harapan ng NHA then they meant for peace.... Oh, nakalimutan ko rin pala. Sa isang interview kay Fr. Balweg, sinabi nya na di naman talaga peace ang habol ng kaliwa, they want take over of this country...AS u can see, wala namang nagtatagumpay na peace agreement sa npa-government.
Lahat naman ng political and economic systems may flaws di po ba? kung gagamitin ang Nokor and Cambodian experience talagang ayoko ng komunismo.Well thing of the past na ang communism, but the variety that evolved in China have shown that communism made what it is now. Just less the human rights violation. Kasi the way we were oriented communism/ socialism were inputs of the west. When in fact variations were even practiced in European countries say Denmark, France, Scandinavian countries even the former ruling party in Great Britain - Labour Party had traces of Socialism on its policies. As long as violence is out of the equation and respect for certain individual freedom is evident, a moderate leftist line could be just fine.
Oh you mean Socialism? Well I kinda agree with some degree of Socialism. It's true talagang demonized ito specially sa USA. But you have to understand, Cold War mentality? If you like reading books, dito din papasok si Ayn Rand. Like what I've said in a previous post. Cult mentality 101. There must always be a common enemy. Why do you think some religions here are bad mouthing the others? Why the American propaganda machine first demonized the Japanese, the Russians and the Muslims? To get the masses riled up. Ideology of communism is still a no no for me. I think it's another tool to control the masses, and keep people poor and yung elites lang ang nasa itaas. Yes there is "equality" pero there is also a first among equals. Unlike now, you are free to go wherever you want and follow your ambitions. Kaya ito ang ipinuputok ng butchi nila Marx, Engels etc. because at the time they saw the fat cats lang ang yumayaman, and working class eh hindi. Pero in theory maganda. In action effective ba? By the way the Bolsheviks who overthrew the Russian Tsar and paved the way for The Russian Empire to become the Soviet Union was also funded on the sides by... Wait for it.. Capitalist Jewish Bankers! Who also funded Communist hating Adolf Hitler by the way. Do you see the irony here? It's all the same ploy. Iba iba lng ng methods. Now to China. China is blessed with plenty of land, resource and manpower. It's highly improbable China would not become a world power once she gets up to speed. They needed only to industrialize. I don't see how communism can be thanked for that. Perhaps you can thank them for the incredibly cheap labor, kasi halos wala kang rights doon if lower class ka. Lets also not forget, where the wealth China has now is coming from? Capitalistic western corporations. China is communist in name and spirit kuno. Pero they are very capitalistic. Otherwise they will be dead in the water. Russia can always exploit them and even India if they didn't evolve to what they are now. Mao the great leader made tons of blunders. His Great Leap Forward, cultural revolution etc. Naging mascot na lang si Mao. Just like in North Korea the party needed a figurehead. Someone people will look up to and be inspired by, even though in truth that figurehead is as influential and as powerful as the mascot of jollibee you are seeing right now. That's why after his death they made reforms and till now those reforms are felt. Why? Mao is too old fashioned. China would not be the economic powerhouse it is now if nasunod lahat ng gusto ni chairman Mao. Socialism to some degree is good, like as you have said in France and Sweden. Ayos yan. But you have to remember those countries, specially the French are mature politically. No match ang political consciousness ng pinas compared jaan. Sa France takot ang gobyerno sa tao. French Revolution remember? Liberté, égalite and fraternité. They really did believed and clamored for that specially after a succession of incompetent and extravagant monarchs, the French would not accept anything less. Aside from that is pera. Diba recently lang hindi pinirmahan ni El Presidente yung Magna Carta for the poor? Pano wala daw kasi pera.
That's why ideologies are good only as such but in practice..dun na magkakatalo. And by the way, misnomer din ang communist states or countries kasi in reality wala pa naman talaga nakaka-attain ng estado ng pagiging komunista. Thanks for the additional info sir Primus.
Yes Utopia had always remained elusive. I think malabo, specially how human beings are really wired. Someone will take advantage and mess it all up. You're welcome. You're not so bad yourself, and you held your ground pretty well. Very good. You might want to check out the book "The Animal Farm" by George Orwell aside from his "1984" it might interest you. The Animal Farm is mainly a satire of what went on in the Soviet Union specifically when Stalin took over from Lenin. Medyo may bias ng konti being written by a brit at the time when the red scare is slowly gaining ground. Pero it's good to hear all voices to form a sound informed opinion. By the way George was a socialist if tama ang pagka alala ko, so it's an interesting read coming from that background. Mao also has the little red book incase you would like to see a glimpse into his psyche. And P.S. McCarthy was indeed a douchebag. He made many peoples lives a living hell with his inquisition and sensationalist bullsh*t. Sadly some politicians nowadays are emulating his style lalo na pag nag papapogi sa camera and character assasinations.
Yes i read them both as a required reading in our pol.sci subject, kaasar na prof yun, grabe magpahirap sa min. I have no issue in criticizing ideologies and their adherents as long as it's done in fairplay but if it's baseless and out of bigotry, i always raise that nothing or nobody's perfect. Even if Hegel, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Mao and other Leftist ideologues lived at the same period, sigurado parang away babae din ang kalalabasan niyan. See you at the other threads sir Primus
Sometimes we are left with no other options other than to fight for what we think is right.
Bob Ong
