Family members of a cryotherapy manager say she was found frozen to death inside a cryo-chamber.

HENDERSON, NV (WPVI) -- A cryotherapy manager was found frozen inside a cryo-chamber that didn't turn off.

A police report says Chelsea Ake, 24, was found by one of her employees "frozen in solid ice," KSNV-TV reports. Firefighters say they had to crack the ice to release the woman's body from the chamber.

The cryo-chamber was turned on at minus 240 degrees Fahrenheit, and it's estimated the woman was inside for at least 10 hours before she was found.

Police are calling the death an accident.

"I do know that she was alone closing the shop up, and then did go into the machine and apparently did not turn off," her friend, Shae-Lynn Bee, told KSNV-TV.

The officials cause of death is still unknown. Doctors aren't sure if she froze to death or died of suffocation.

"Nitrogen in your body can displace the oxygen in your lungs. Simply because of weight and what it is so if you don't have the proper oxygen you are just going to sleep," said Dr. Carrison.

Cryotherapy is a fairly new treatment, but athletes like Floyd Mayweather and Lebron James claim it has helped them recover from muscle soreness while giving them added strength. Use of the chambers are not regulated, but experts don't recommend anyone to use them for longer than three minutes at a time.

. . . yep, I remember that sequence, Han Solo was put into hibernation by freezing him into a block of carbonite  under Vader's order.., kase balak din nyang ifreeze  si Luke.

it's probable that the woman died of suffocation and hypothermia...under the circumstances,the theory for death by accident is too lame...someone deliberately locked her inside that chamber and left her there to die. It's a scenario for an easy murder...

i think pinay or may lahing filipino yung manager na namatay. baka yung chamber e naglock magisa nung pumasok sya. kelangan kasi yung chamber e below the shoulders lang ang taas pag ginamit para makakahinga ka ng maayos. tapos di ka dapat magisa to operate this. i think hindi din naka-adjust sa height nung biktima yung equipment nung ginamit nya. e nitrogen yung binubuga ng chamber to bring the temperature down. ayun baka kinapos ng hangin tapos below freezing pa sa loob. sumalangit nawa.
