Because the media support music that is appealing only to the eyes and not the ears, majority of the people tend to ignore real music and real talents of the industry...music now adays are 'pacute' 'papogi' and much worse...full of  flashy and crappy video materials. It sucks really to see real talent and good music degrade and waste away just because the industry is being popularized by artists who has the ability to overthrow real talents with just their bankable goodlooks.

May billboard pa yan...unfair diba? Tapos mantakin mo...

Anyway Sir... Salamat sa iyong komento. ;)

this is the sad reality of our music industry... particularly to those who have no connections, you can never make it bigtime... that is the reason why many local talents choose to go outside the country in order to earn a living... i agree that there should be something that needs to be done and our local artist groups should spearhead this...

e paano naman, talamak din ang music piracy so wala rin talagang suporta ang music industry mula sa publiko in the first place. paano pa masu-suportahan ng industriya ang talent nila.

M.I.L.K. is an epic photographic celebration of what it is to be part of a family, share the gift of friendship and more than anything else, to be loved. Inspired by the 1950s landmark photographic exhibition "The Family of Man", M.I.L.K. began as a worldwide search to develop a collection of extraordinary and geographically diverse images portraying humanity’s "Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship" (M.I.L.K.). This search took the form of a global photographic competition in 1999.

Palagay ko ang isa pang problema is lack of musical variety. Merong rap paminsan minsan. Wala tayong dance songs, well otso otso. Wala tayong summer songs.

Ewan. We find this funny pero hindi talaga siya nakakatawa. Mabuhay ang nag eeffort. Kailangang suportahan.

Sad talaga Yan. ..

Thanks for your  comment Sir..!

Sir Razor,

And the rest will be just  a series  of  unfortunate chain  of events both  for the  artist  and the  company  as well.

Salamat sa comment Sir!

...Honga, publicity plus good marketing  strategy.. yan nagdadala  ngayon  sa music  industry..talent?

..it's good to see you here again D'Frost!

.

...I agree sa sinabi  mo Sir. .. ..

Noon tanda  ko  pa yung  mga TV  programs na nagfi  features ng  mga musical  talents ng mga pinoy...though  most artists featured  were  all classical music artists...

If we would just  do a little  research andami nating  talents  who  were  widely acclaimed sa America  and  even  in  Europe. Not to  include  those opera  singers  na sikat  sa Europe  ngayon. .but they  have bestowed  honor and  prestige  sa Bayan  natin..unfortunately Kokonti  nga  lang  ang  nakakaalam. ..

Salamat sa magandang  koment  mo Sir.. !

This.

Tagal ko na napansin to, even yung mga wala naman ka talent talent eh may album. Anne Curtis, wtf? Boses palaka na nga eh.

Napansin ko nadin to lalo na nung willie days pa na otcho otcho or kung ano ano pang nonsense na kanta na uulit ulitin lang hanggang they brainwash you to like it.

Even if you watch our TV shows now it's mostly garbage. Dati meron pa kahit papaanong sense kagaya nung political satire na Abangan ang susunod na kabanata, or musical comedies like Champoy, or late night talk shows like Oh no it's Johnny. Now it's telenovelas everywhere even the news and "reality" shows hindi complete without the drama and pompous editorials nung mga reporter na kelan lang eh naka upo din naman sa pwesto.

Oh you got me laughing on that 'palaka ' voice hehe..well I think that's one of the best examples of the way our music industry is marketing our so called modern music.

I invest to maximize their product endorsements. . . mabenta nga naman, tulad nila vice Ganda,Rosanna Roces,Bayan Agbayani atbp. .

...not too late though for public shows like FUSION. . . we should have more shows like that in the future.

OT: well, a lot has been said above.. so what's my take here, hmmm... our music has long been dead, what we hear nowadays are all excerpts from the western culture... kundiman was our original pinoy music... these people that we hear about like Martin Nievera and the likes have bestowed upon us what western music should be delivered by a pinoy singer... oo at malinaw ang dictions, easy to digest and understand but those were westernized musics... nag-iba ang ihip ng hangin when we were colonized by these americans thus paving the way for their culture to gobble up ours... ano daw ngayon ang OPM? hahaha... gusto lang nila mabili ang pinoy musics but not the original pinoy kundiman... don't get me wrong here, i'm not that old to hear Kundimans, all i'm saying is that original is original, i must admit kasama ako sa kinain ng western culture but hindi ko ito pinili bagkus kinalakihan ko na din ito... nagpapantig lang ang tenga ko when someone says OPM pero hindi nya alam kung ano nga ba ang dapat sa hindi na OPM... this is not a bailable issue, we can have an endless discussion about this but as we go along fighting tooth and nail, still,  the pinoy music is in its decaying stage... no solution...

Syempre may sponsor sila. Ganun talaga.

The likes of Pilita Corrales,  Dulce,  etc.

We must reeducate ourselves regarding the roots of our music. It is imperative that we must evolve and reinvent our music,  but without forgetting what is our own.

Thanks guys for all your comments!
