Los Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol is putting a personal touch to his contribution to Super Typhoon Yolanda relief.
The 7’0” Spaniard will be donating $1000 for every point he scores against the Golden State Warriors in their game, Friday (Saturday, PHL time) at the Staples Center in LA.
The Lakers franchise has already donated $150,000 to the Philippine Red Cross, but Gasol’s efforts will go towards UNICEF, and he is encouraging his Twitter followers to make similar pledges of smaller amounts.
This season, sans superstar guard Kobe Bryant, Gasol is norming 13.0 points per outing, though his shooting has been suffering, as he’s making only a career-low 39.5 percent of his attempts.
