i bought a lot (land around ten years ago)for my adopted son and the dead of absolute sale was in his name unfornately before the processing in the register of deeds he go with her biological mother ang left us. the advise was to register the lot to my other adopted daughter mby the fixer processing the paper since it is useless to give to my adopted son who run away.
i agreed to his advice and the land title was release in the name of my daughter. now the former owner of the lot came over and complain wsa filed complain in barangay for falsication of public document and asking a settlement of P300K + attorney pay of P20K,(I beg him since we all pay the necessary needs for transfer and he reduce to P160K), this was because the name of the previous deeds of sale was register to my son and now to my daughter,, he said his signature was being forged/
it was a honest mistake and we really dont know that this happen.. he admit that we pay him in full but his complain was falsification of public document asking huge amount to settle it.
may educate me if this is reasonable amount to pay in our mistake and what we can do to reduce the money he's asking.
