eliminated na ang Russia losing to Finland in double OT, 86-83. The Russian team were without Andrei Kirilenko and several other stars.

Italy advances into the 2nd round with a perfect record of 4-0. They defeated previously undeafeated Greece, 81-72 with NBA veteran and now in Spurs uniform, Marco Belinelli scoring 23 points.

Lihis tayo kunti, sa FIBA-Americas naman, ito na final results:

Argentina, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Mexico are all qualified for the 2014 FIBA-World. (aling team kaya dito makaharap ng Gilas?).

Favorite Brazil failed to qualify, Canada with a number of NBA players in it's line-up also failed to advance as well as host, Venezuela. Asa na lang sila na mainvite sa wildcard qualifying sometime in 2014.

As usual bida si Luis Scola sa Argentina, si Gustavo Ayon (now an Atlanta Hawks) ang bida sa Mexico who returned to FIBA World after an absence of 40 years (parang Pilipinas din na natagalan din bago makabalik sa world stage, 1978 pa yong huli) and hold your breath, aside kay JJ Barea na naging key player ng Puerto Rico, Ronaldo Balkman (yes the former Petron import na sumakal kay Arwin Santos) ang naging leading scorer nila with his 20.1 ppg average. nagkaliskisan na, lumabas na ang lakas ng Spain at France at magkikita sila sa semis ng FIBA-Europe. Kahit mas maganda records ng Serbia at Slovenia sa preliminaries, nagulat ang 2 teams na ito sa pinakitang lakas ng Spain at France na ang line-up ay kabilang mga current at dating NBA players.

It's France vs. Lithunia at FIBA-Europe Final. France lead by Spurs superstar Tony Parker upset the Marc Gasol lead Spain, 75-72 in overtime. The 2012 Olympic silver medalist is missing the services of Pau Gasol and Juan Carlos Navarro.

While Lithunia defeated Croatia in a battle of Eastern Europe's basketball powers, 77-62. NBA veteran Linas Kleiza and NBA's Toronto raptors big man, Jonas Valanciunas towed their team into the final.
