Sa dami ng mga karumal dumal na krimen sa bansa
Nakadugtung palagi sa pag kalulong sa druga
Masasabi ba natin na kaakibat o kakambal ng krimen
ang pagkalulong sa ipinagbabawal na gamot?

have to agree that a large part of crime is drug related... don't need to explain as we can see ourselves it's effect in our society....

What the government needs to do is to address the root of the problem. They can kill off as many drug pusher, user, tambay they want but it will not solve the problem. Poverty and lack of education is the problem. If everyone is rich no one will commit crimes.

Problem is not everyone can be rich. :lr: :lr: :lr: :lr: :lr: :lr:

if someone is educated the potential for being rich is higher compared to someone who is not educated.

yes, poverty plays a big part in the drug scenario... but if everyone, particularly the elected bgy. officials do their work, a big chunk of the problem can be negated... let's face the fact that at the bgy. level, they know who's who in the drug business... but fear and money talks, that's why very seldom do they act on this... it's one reason i agree with the proposal then of having bgy. officials appointed so that if they underperform, they can easily be replaced by a hopefully more competent one...

Government should invest more in their people not actively kill them, to make them more educated, so that they could have better opportunity. Poverty is vicious. And the lack of education puts the people in a cycle where they have little to no choice at all. Drugs and criminality are mostly just two of its most easily identifiable by-products. To break this vicious cycle, government should address the root causes.

I think the government would like to kill or incarcerate everyone below the poverty line to solve the drug and crime problem.

for me that would be unfair... the drug problem is equally upstairs than just downstairs... but as they say, you only see what's below you and not what is above you...

I think the government should also focus on strict border protection and customs control. If his excellency thinks that there are no more prohibited drug laboratories in the country and the supply is coming from outside sources then the government should institute measures to stop these.
