I'm fond of collecting swiss pocketknives...I have one medium sized Victorinox pocketknife ( red executive) a classic Victorinox nail clip and key chain...and one small Rainforest Walk (2016 Limited Edition) mas handy ito...kasya kahit sa coin purse ko.

nung una yung medium sized ang dala ko, very handy sya sa work ko noon...I have this knife bag na may mga small compartment para sa mga maliliit na bagay and cutlery tools...but lately , I use the smaller version yang Rainforest Walk saka yung nail clip lang with keychain...yep, dala ko silang dalawa everyday.

nice choice victorinox are one of the most trusted pocket knife/miltitool combo out there....
i mostly have my etc stuff on rotation meaning i usually have more than one of everything that i own...it doesn't necessarily mean that i carry expensive stuff mostly i vary my carry stuff depending on where I'm going...for example if I'm going to the mall or somewhere i know i will be frisked i limit my carry knife to a cheap china made one, well at least thats what in my pocket i usually carry another one in my inner wait band wether I'm wearing shorts or pants... over the years I've learned a few tricks on keeping my stuff secure and undetected but everyday is a learning experience so i keep an open mind. some people say its a little over the top but i guess to each is his own... here are some brands that i carry and trust my life with over the years....
KNIVES
spyderco
zero tolerance
emerson
crkt
sog
bench made
kershaw
FLASHLIGHTS
surefire
ace beam
maglight
klaus
zebralight
MULTITOOLS
leatherman
gerber
victorinox
emerson
pens
parker
cross
embassy
shrade
FIREARMS
mostly striker fired polymers...
aside from these i usually carry a small roll of duct tape, couple of zipties, small first aid kit, bandana and a couple feet of cordage either paracord or nylon string....

Sir Maxpediion...
laging ready ah parang boyscout. But surely you wont be carrying it kapag may dates ka. Baka matakot si girl... ::)
flexi cuffs...aruyy masakit yun ah...saka mahirap tanggalin not unless putulin na.
I haven't been with someone who carries such stuffs pa naman..
...yan! you already tickled my curiosity. I'd probably give it a try lol.
( ilagay sa kanya yan hand cuffs hehehe)
...that's why useful ang pagdadala ng small led flashlights...mabusisi muna ang car ni ka date ...baka may mga mala Harlequin weapons sa loob nyaha!

hmmm depends on the the date... misnan pag naaman nila meron ako nun sila pa miso nagpapadala gusto daw "makita"... :lr: :lr: :lr:
bout the flexi cuffs masakit lang un pag sobrang sikip.... kaya mas maganda balytan muna ng hanky ung wrist bago kabitan... but then again depende sa pagkakabitan pag bad guy e hihiglatin ka ng todo pag curious date naman syempre dapat slow and sensual ang pagkabit....
anyway to keep on topic...
for me the most important edc tool is metal pen....
aside from being a writing implement a sturdy metal pen can be used as a striking or stabbing tool when push comes to shove... you will be surprised with what you are capable doing with a little bit of training and overflowing adrenaline...

i would like to share some of the things I've learned with flashlights and knives...
knives muna...
first of all going back to my previous statement about two is one and one is none... i usually carry two knives... either two pocket knives or once pocket knife and a multitool with a knife ... i carry two for different uses ... lemme explain ...
the first knife is what i would call a work knife. meaning i use it for mostly utilitarian settings... basically cutting wires, opening boxes or letter, prying stuff and the likes. this knife is usually not very pretty but very utilitarian plus i make sure that it won't hurt the pocket so much if it gets chipped or confiscated or lost.. is much a possible i carry a work knife that is the least threatening as to not to cause any unwarranted suspicion or confusion or even threat.
the second knife i usually carry it very concealed but very easy to get to when i need it..i call this my safety knife...this knife is used for personal protection so i keep it as sharp as is could and is made of a tougher steel, something like a vg10, s30, s35v or elemax. I'm also not very fond of serrated blades for personal protection since experience taught me that it snags....as a bonus is also carry a money clip knife for that extra redundancy... it used to be a boker money clip but since the clip got broken i started carrying a gerber money clip...if want to get into this try reading this article as it might enlighten you on the different common metallurgy out there to help you choose a carry knife that would suit your needs...

flashlights naman...
as for lights i used to carry maglights since college. from the penlight keychain lights to the d cell batton type, then i moved to surefire flashlights and carried them exclusively for a very long time from g2s, e series, defender series and a couple of furies. i used to think that they are the best light money can buy because back then they had the highest lumens and were tough as nails. then came the dawn of the leds. this opened and levelled the field and made it a whole different ballgame. i started playing with fenix and nitecore since they offered higher output at a fraction of the cost of surefire flashlights. but then it started to show its inferiority with surefire, craftsmanship wise. at around the same time i was able to join a low light firearm training and it changed my perspective when it came to lights. I've learned that power meaning brightness is not always good as it tends to make seeing a lot more difficult in small enclosed spaces (flood, throw and glare are very important aspects). another thing i learned was battery availability is also important...most, if not all of my surefire goodies are powered by cr123 batteries. it was very expensive and the surefires eats power like a mofo..... so i started carrying lights that are powered either by aa or aaa batteries hence the zebralight... which for me is one of the best bang for the buck lights in the market right now... altho i still keep surefires a my primary and secondary weapon lights... for flashlights my suggestion would be to do your research first before buying. try to think of your purpose before you choose. yes those 5 10 or 15w police you can see everywhere are bright but it doesn't really last very long. either the circuit inside the clicker (yes they do have a small circuit board inside) or the circuit in the led (again yes there is a circuit behind the led inside the reflector) konks out in the worst possible time. right now there are a lot of brands out there that provides decent power, toughness and does not cost an arm and a leg sometimes even a kidney....trust me there are bespoke lights out there that costs around 300 to 500 usd and as small as your thumb... anyway how about you guys care to share what you know...

yes a fountain pen sounds good kasi it writes very nicely very executive ang dating kahit na pumipirma ka lang ng raffle entry sa 711 mukang yamanin hehehe... unfortunately in terms of defence i highly doubt that it would be effective... for one the nub or nib or whatever it is called is very flimsy one stab of strike and the tendency is that it will fold or even break. plus in dire situation the added motion of opening the pen could be very fatal... if i may suggest look for a pen of solid construction, solid meaning metal, it may be heavy but at least you know it would inflict some damage when used as a striking implement. ..personally i use a stainless parker jotter pen... i lost a couple of these over the years but its cheap enough that it won't break the bank went lost plus the refill is available everywhere... i got a couple of cross pens that i received as gifts over the years but i only carry or use those pag gusto ko mag feeling executive hehehe... for when i go abroad where i know i cannot carry a knife especially during flights i carry and embassy pen rev2 https://countycomm.com/products/stainless-embassy-pen-rev-2 (https://countycomm.com/products/stainless-embassy-pen-rev-2) ... this thing is a tank and it looks nice to me too.. a bit uncomfortable thou if you plan on writing a memoir with it but it gets the job done for the more usual writing jobs... plus it fits a fisher pen space refill...which in my opinion is one of the best pen refills in the market... although i know i will never know or test for my self if it will indeed write in outer space....oh i had a not so pleasant experience with a fountain pen pala... one of my "tactical" pens used to have a fountain pen option bale it came with two tips one for a ball point pen and one for a fountain pen so i tried using the fountain pen for a few days kasi feeling like a sir tuwing ginagagamit ko unfortunately nag blot ung nib e i usually carry my pen on my right back pocket so ang nangyare para akong tinagusan kasi panay blue ink ung buong pwet ko... kainis....although right now I'm eyeing a lamy fountain pen that looks like a small silver dildo (excuse me for the lack of a better description) but it cost like 3x more than my favourite embassy pen...
lastly.... ung highpit nung flexi cuffs minsan hindi napapansin pag "in the heat of the moment" tapos ung marks naman na naiiwan sa skin minsan pwedeng maging pleasant reminder" hihihihi...
