MANILA, Philippines – On November 8, it will be two years since Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit the Philippines.
Typhoon Yolanda made headlines around the world as it claimed thousands of lives and left unimaginable destruction in several areas, including Eastern Visayas.

Along with the international attention came pledges of aid from several countries. These, through proper implementation, helped the survivors get back on their feet after the disaster.

Rappler takes a look at the affected sectors, and through statistics gathered from government and non-governmental agencies, we paint a picture of the current rehabilitation situation of the survivors of the one of the strongest and most destructive typhoons to hit the Philippines.

i  heard quite an unnerving story ...and it saddens me to think that in times of crisis such as this, naiisip pa ng ibang nasa posisyon ang differences ng pamilyang Marcos at Aquino...after two years, the devastating effects continue, walang resulta ang mga plano and housing and livelihood projects to help rebuild the damaged provinces...however, this sad plight is already expected by the residents of Tacloban...the present government is reluctant to extend their help..for the sole reason that their Mayor is a ROMUALDEZ...how unfortunate.  :o :o :o

Heartbreaking :( In the end, it's all about the bureaucracy. Tama ang sinasabi nila na nasan napunta ang pundo? ang mga goods at aide? If we always rely on the gov't as yung filter or even third-party between any large-scale or cross-continental action, something will surely be lost in the process! Parang pass the message lang yan, di 100% ang maabot sa dulo. Here's to hoping for some federalism this coming election para maayos ito kahit mitigation man lang, habang di pa bagyo season.
