If naalala niyo guys, Joss Whedon was a relative unknown but Marvel Studios chose him to direct their biggest movie to date, The Avengers.
This is why he was picked. Firefly has become a phenomenon, parang Star Trek ang cult following niya. If you remember, the original Star Trek was cancelled after 3 years lang. Firefly was cancelled by Fox after just 14 episodes, but it was an executive blunder and certainly not because pangit ang story niya. Joss created a full movie to wrap up and conclude the series in 2005, called Serenity.
Guys, recommended ko to to the highest degree. If you wanna know why Marvel picked Joss for the job, watch this series. I guarantee, pagnasimulan mo to, para na kayong nakadikit sa computer niyo. Iiyak kayo bakit kinancel nila to.

i have seen serenity! but yet to see the spin-off (tama ba?) tv series..
Bro, nauna yung TV series way back ng 2001-2002. Serenity was made in 2005, 3 years after Fox cancelled it mid-season, para matapos ni Joss Whedon ang kwento. I recommend you watch the TV series too! :P

I've been a fan of Firefly ever since 2001. Kakatapos ko lang i-dl yung HD version nito. I really hope Whedon gets another crack at this. Maganda yung idea behind the Firefly 'universe', there's a lot of potential there.
Parang Caprica/BSG/Razor, etc.

Nice bro, it's great to find another firefly fan here. Pero dude, if they remake firefly, di na ata kaya ni Nathan fillion. Medyo he looks old na right?

Yeah, I was thinking that. Pero pwede pa rin ata yung sa Star Wars, they did a KoToR treatment, set in the same universe but in a different time period. They pretty much wrapped up the end part with the movie.
Perhaps a setting prior to the Unification War with different cast members and just a cameo of young Mal and Zoe as raw recruits.

Yeah, he was in his early to mid-20s during the war, so it would probably have to be one of the lesser known TV actors, sadly no one comes to mind at the moment.

Bro, I know we can't find anyone to replace Nathan Fillion as Malcolm Reynolds, but since Star Wars episode VII-IX is coming out, wouldn't it be cool to have Nathan Fillion play as Hans Solo? :D
