Johnnie Walker is a brand of Scotch Whisky owned by Diageo that originated in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.
The most widely distributed brand of blended Scotch whisky in the world, it is sold in almost every country, with annual sales of over 130 million bottles.
Originally known as Walker's Kilmarnock Whisky, the Johnnie Walker brand is a legacy left by John "Johnnie" Walker after he started to sell whisky in his grocer's shop in Ayrshire, Scotland. The brand became popular, but after Walker's death in 1857 it was his son Alexander Walker and grandson Alexander Walker II who were largely responsible for establishing the whisky as a popular brand. Under John Walker, whisky sales represented eight percent of the firm's income; by the time Alexander was ready to pass on the company to his own sons, that figure had increased to between 90 and 95 percent.
Prior to 1860, it was illegal to sell blended whisky.[where? During that time John Walker sold a number of whiskies—notably his own Walker's Kilmarnock. In 1865, John's son Alexander produced their first blend, Walker's Old Highland.
Alexander Walker introduced the iconic square bottle in 1870. This meant more bottles fitting the same space and resulted in fewer broken bottles. The other identifying characteristic of the Johnnie Walker bottle is the label, which is applied at an angle of 24 degrees and allows text to be made larger and more visible.
From 1906 to 1909, John's grandsons George and Alexander II expanded the line and introduced the colour names. In 1908, when James Stevenson was the Managing Director, there was a re-branding of sorts. The whisky was renamed from Walker's Kilmarnock Whiskies to Johnnie Walker Whisky. In addition, the slogan, "Born 1820—Still going Strong!" was created, along with the Striding Man logo, a figure used in their advertisements to this day, created by illustrator Tom Browne, in honour of the founder, and given the same name.
Johnnie Walker White was dropped during World War I. In 1932, Alexander II added Johnnie Walker Swing to the line, the name originating from the unusual shape of the bottle, which allowed it to rock back and forth.
The company joined Distillers Company in 1925. Distillers was acquired by Guinness in 1986, and Guinness merged with Grand Metropolitan to form Diageo in 1997.
Johnnie Walker is no longer blended in Kilmarnock, and has not been for many years. The bonded warehouses and company offices (now local authority) can still be seen in Strand Street and John Finnie Street.
On 1 July 2009, Bryan Donaghey, Diageo Managing Director for Global Supply Scotland, announced that Diageo intended to cease production at the plant in Kilmarnock. Under a restructuring programme across Scotland, production would be moved from the brand's original home to Diageo plants in Leven, Fife, and Shieldhall, Glasgow.
News of the planned closure had widespread media attention and condemnation. Following the decision, a public campaign was waged to try to persuade Diageo to reverse this decision. However on 9 September 2009 Diageo stated that they intended to press ahead with the move away from Kilmarnock and that the matter was "closed".
The Johnnie Walker plant, the largest employer in the town of Kilmarnock, closed its doors in March 2012.

Red Label: an 80 proof (40% ABV) blend of 35 grain and malt whiskies. It is intended for making mixed drinks.[8] According to William Manchester this was the favourite Scotch of Winston Churchill, who mixed it with soda.[9] Red Label has been reported to be former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's drink of choice.

Black Label: an 80 proof (40% ABV) blend of about 40 whiskies, each aged at least 12 years.
Double Black Label: A new addition, the whisky was created taking Black Label as a blueprint and adding heavily peated malts and some aged in deeply charred oak casks.

Green Label: An 86 proof (43% ABV) whisky, it is no longer internationally available, but remains in limited production for the Taiwanese market. Elsewhere, as of mid 2014 it can still occasionally be found in retail channels. This variety is a blended malt, meaning it is made just from single-malts with no grain whisky added. Green Label uses predominantly four malts "drawn from the four corners of Scotland"—the intent of the blend is to deliver depth, substance, and intensity. Each of the malts (Talisker, Linkwood, Cragganmore, and Caol Ila) was selected by the blender for balance, with each malt whisky matured for a minimum of 15 years.

Gold Label: an 80 proof (40% ABV) blend of over 15 single malts. It was derived from Alexander Walker II's blending notes for a whisky to commemorate Johnnie Walker's centenary. His original efforts were thwarted by a shortage of these malts following World War I. Gold Label is commonly bottled at 15 or 18 years, or without an age statement as Gold Label Reserve. Gold Label has been replaced, without an age statement, as "Golden Label Reserve" as of 2013.[15]
Platinum Label: an 80 proof (40% ABV) private blend—aged 18 years to replace the original Gold Label in the Asian market, and sold alongside Gold Label Reserve. It is also available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Poland, South Africa and Israel.

Blue Label: Johnnie Walker's premium 80–86 proof (40–43% ABV[16][17]) blend with no age statement. Johnnie Walker Blue Label, also known as Max Walker, is blended to recreate the character and taste of some of the earliest whisky blends created in the 19th century.[18] Bottles are numbered serially and sold in a silk-lined box accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It is one of the most expensive blended Scotches on the market, with prices in the range of US $200–$300.

Johnnie Walker Swing: supplied in a distinctive bottle whose irregular bottom allows it to rock back and forth. It was Alexander II’s last blend: it features a high proportion of Speyside malts, complemented by malts from the northern Highlands and Islay, and is "almost as sweet as a bourbon".[19]
Red & Cola: a premix of Red Label and cola, sold in cans and bottles similar to beer.
Johnnie Walker blends, by years of production, and from least expensive to most expensive.

Three Distilleria individuals, Alessandro Martini, Luigi Rossi and Teofilo Sola, changed the company name to Martini, Sola & Cia in 1863 and it was in 1879 that the Sola family sold its interests to the remaining partners who renamed the company Martini & Rossi, as it stands today.

Jas Hennessy & Co., or more simply Hennessy, is a cognac house with headquarters in Cognac, France. Today, the company of Jas Hennessy & Co. sells about 50 million bottles a year worldwide, or more than 40 percent of the world’s Cognac, making it the world's largest Cognac producer. It is owned by Moët Hennessy, which is co-owned by LVMH (66%) and Diageo (34%).
The Hennessy cognac distillery was founded by Irishman Richard Hennessy in 1765.[verification needed][1] During the 1970s, Kilian Hennessy, a fifth generation direct descendent of Hennessy, became the CEO of Hennessy, succeeding his first cousin Maurice-Richard.[verification needed Kilian Hennessy spearheaded the company's 1971 merger with Moët et Chandon, which created Moët Hennessy.
Moët Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton in 1987, creating one of the world's largest luxury brand conglomerates, Moët-Hennessy • Louis Vuitton or LVMH. In 1988, a management crisis led to the group's takeover by Bernard Arnault, owner of the haute couture house Christian Dior, with the support of Guinness. Kilian Hennessy remained on the company's advisory board until his death in 2010 at the age of 103.

Coors Light is a 4.2% ABV light beer brewed in Golden, Colorado and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was first produced in 1978 by the Coors Brewing Company.
The beer has a "Cold Certified" label which turns the mountains on the label from white to blue when the beer's temperature is lowered to 4 degrees Celsius (39 degrees Fahrenheit). Coors Light has a "mountain icon" to represent the beer in place of the logo. The icon is a stylized drawing of a mountain with two peaks. The bottom has a tail that signifies movement.

Cutty Sark is a range of blended Scotch whisky produced by Edrington plc of Glasgow, whose main office is less than 10 miles from the birthplace of the famous clipper ship of the same name. The whisky was created on March 23, 1923 as a product of Berry Brothers & Rudd, with the home of the blend considered to be at The Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. The name comes from the River Clyde–built clipper ship Cutty Sark, whose name came from the Scots language term "cutty-sark", the short shirt [skirt] prominently mentioned in the famous poem by Robert Burns, "Tam o' Shanter". The drawing of the clipper ship Cutty Sark on the label of the whisky bottles is a work of the Swedish artist Carl Georg August Wallin. He was a mariner painter, and this is probably his most famous ship painting. This drawing has been on the whisky bottles since 1955.

It is the best selling tequila in the world,[1] with 35.1% market share of the tequila category worldwide[2] and 33.66% share of the US tequila category as of July 2013, nearly twice the share of the second-leading brand.[3] As of 2012, Jose Cuervo sells 3.5 million cases of tequila in the US annually, and a fifth of the world's tequila by volume.[3]
Jose Cuervo has always been family-owned and is run today by the Beckmann family of Mexico, direct descendants of Don Jose Antonio de Cuervo. Juan-Domingo "Dobel" Beckmann, son of Don Juan Beckmann, is the sixth-generation leader of the company.[4] In July 2013 Proximo Spirits took over US distribution of Jose Cuervo from Diageo, who had managed it since 1997.

Labatt Breweries of Canada has been shaped by close to 170 years of brewing excellence and commitment to the communities where it operates. Throughout the company's history, Labatt has never lost sight of the fact that it is in business to exceed the expectations of its customers. From Newfoundland to British Columbia, 3,000 employees come to work every day dedicated to exactly this objective.
In 1847, the company's first brewery produced close to 1,000 bottles of beer a year. Today, Labatt is a proud member of the global Anheuser-Busch InBev family and brews a total of about 10 million hectolitres annually – the equivalent of more than 350 million bottles of beer to customers across Canada. Much has changed at Labatt since its founding, but one thing remains the same — our commitment to brewing great beer.

Jack Daniel's is a brand of Tennessee whiskey and the highest selling American whiskey in the world. It is produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee, by the Jack Daniel Distillery, which has been owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 1956. Despite being the location of a major operational distillery, Jack Daniel's home county of Moore is a dry county, so the product is not available for consumption at stores or restaurants within the county.
The product meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon, though the company disavows this classification and markets it simply as Tennessee whiskey rather than as Tennessee bourbon. As defined in the North American Free Trade Agreement, Tennessee Whiskey is classified as a straight bourbon authorized to be produced in the state of Tennessee. Packaged in distinctive square bottles, a total of 11 million cases of the flagship "Black Label" product were sold in the company's fiscal year ended April 30, 2013.

Corona Extra (Coronita in Spain) is a pale lager produced by Cervecería Modelo in Mexico for domestic distribution and export to all other countries besides the United States, and by Constellation Brands in Mexico for export to the United States. The split ownership is a result of an anti-trust settlement permitting the merger of Grupo Modelo with AB InBev. It is one of the top-selling beers worldwide. Outside of Mexico, Corona is commonly served with a wedge of lime or lemon in the neck of the bottle to add tartness and flavor.

Nastro Azzurro is a 5.1% alcohol by volume pale lager. It is the Peroni Brewery's premium lager brand which was launched in 1963.[3] The name means "Blue Ribbon" in Italian, in honor of the Blue Riband won by Italian ocean liner SS Rex in 1933.[4] Nastro Azzurro has also sponsored teams in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. In 1997 they sponsored a 125cc Aprilia team with rider Valentino Rossi, who won the championship in that season. In 2000 and 2001 they sponsored a 500cc Honda team, again with Rossi as the rider.

Kim Jong Il’s Hennessy Thirst Cost $1 Million Per Year
(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/03/0e8cf3d1ab37bedc4b71761f45587c2d.jpg)
Kim Jong Il’s Hennessy thirst cost North Korean citizens an average of $1 million per year.
The former dictator was reportedly the largest single client for the Hennessy brand.
The cost of Kim Jong Il’s Hennessy addiction was first reported by online drinks firm 31DOVER.com. The company examined the drinking habits of many world leaders and found that Kim Jong Il’s Hennessy habit was greater than other famed drinkers including Churchill, Thatcher, Blair, and Cameron.
Kim Jong Il was known to purchase Hennessy by the case, which in turn led to him regime becoming the single largest buyer of the famed drink.
The North Korean dictator loved the drink so much that he was often pictured with the beverage alongside his meetings with his top officials and world leaders.
Kim Jong Il would have to personally drink a lot of whiskey to gobble up $1 million annually at $30 to $40 per bottle. Instead, North Korea’s leader would gift the drink to friends and world leaders and present the drink at his own lavish parties.
While most North Koreans are repressed throughout the country, Kim Jong Il and his top officials were known to greatly admire Western civilization for its cars, drinks, and various other pieces of luxury.
The regimes love of Western items was so great that to punish Kim Jong Il the United Nations cut off trade in luxury goods. The United Nations decisions forced the North Korean dictator to purchase luxury items through back channels.

Dom Pérignon (/ˌdɒmpɛrɪˈnjɒn/; French pronunciation: [dɔ̃peʁiɲɔ̃]) is a brand of vintage Champagne produced by the Champagne house Moët & Chandon and serves as that house's prestige champagne. It is named after Dom Pérignon, a Benedictine monk who was an important quality pioneer for Champagne wine but who, contrary to popular myths, did not discover the champagne method for making sparkling wines.

Festive Ways To Celebrate Valentine's Day With Alcohol
(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/08/20e8967693ffe8f8cd4491ae3e1abe95.jpg)
By: nicolelb for different solutions
Valentine's Day is rolling around again, and for most of us it's really just an excuse to get half-price candy on the 15th. If you're among those who are counting the hours until you can stock up on boxes of Pot of Gold truffles, then come along and drown your sorrows in one of these Cupid-inspired drinks!
Please drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
1. Candy-Infused Vodka
(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/08/5a635d97f866896dd460289f0265da3e.jpg)
via Food & Femininity
Why not put that candy to good use and infuse some vodka with your favorite sweets? Try using cinnamon hearts for a flavor-packed drink, or conversation hearts for a sweeter, milder vodka. An easy ratio is 1 ounce of vodka to 2-3 candies, but you can adjust that based on how sweet you want it to be. If you're using higher quality vodka you won't need as much candy as you would for a lower quality vodka. Let the candies dissolve, shaking once an hour, and strain out any sugary sediment before drinking. Make sure that you use a glass jar to infuse your vodka.
2. Fruit-Infused Vodka
(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/08/4412ddb6eaddfca28e654527940b90d6.jpg)
via The Kitchn
If you're looking for a lighter flavor but want the satisfaction of infusing your own alcohol, fruit is a great option. Going with the Valentine's Day theme, try using cherries, strawberries, or raspberries. There's no hard and fast rule regarding how much fruit you should use per volume of alcohol, as long as the fruit is completely covered. Again, make sure to infuse your vodka in a glass container.

Yamazaki is Suntory’s flagship single malt, multi-layered with fruit and Mizunara aroma.
From Yamazaki was born the surprising, delicate yet profound experience of a Japanese single malt. Today, Yamazaki is not only the No.1 single malt whisky in Japan, but is enjoyed in more than thirty-five countries.

Best whisky in the world' prize won by Japanese single malt for first time as Scottish distilleries lose out(http://es.ipcdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Yamazaki-Single-Malt-Sherry-Cask-2013.jpg)
Scottish distilleries are in shock after a Japanese single malt was named the best whisky in the world.
Whisky expert Jim Murray described the Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 as a drink of “near incredible genius”, awarding it 97.5 marks out of 100 in the 2015 World Whisky Bible.
To add insult to injury it is the first time in the Whisky Bible’s 12-year history that a Scottish malt has failed to make the top five drams. It is also the first year that a Japanese whisky claimed the highest accolade.
Mr Murray, who oversees the review that samples over 4,500 different whiskies, labelled the results a “wake up call” for Scottish distilleries, claiming the winner was “a single malt which no Scotch can at the moment get anywhere near”.

via The Stylish Type
Serves 1
1.5 ounce of Patron silver tequila
1 ounce Organic brand lemonade
splash of Rose's Red grenadine syrup
red sugar for rim
lemon wedge
ice
Pour sugar into a shallow plate or bowl. Wet the rim of glass with the lemon wedge. Dip glass into the sugar. Fill glass with ice. Combine tequila, lemonade, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 45 seconds. Strain into the prepared sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with lemon wedge. Enjoy with your sweetheart!
This gorgeous sugar-rimmed drink is a dressed up tequila sunrise, using lemonade rather than orange juice. You don't have to use Patron tequila, but it makes a world of difference.

This particular drink takes a bit of prep work, but the homemade chocolate syrup is worth the wait, and you can make extra for later.

via The Food Network
Significantly less tragic than the Shakespearean play that it's named after, this impressive cocktail is surprisingly easy to make. The journey to your happily ever after starts here.
Ingredients
Ice45ml tequila
15ml Grand Marnier
7ml cherry or Chambord raspberry liqueur
60ml chilled peach juice
For the garnish:
Orange zest spiral
3 maraschino cherries
Use imperial measurements
Method
1) Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila (or Absolut Peach), Grand Marnier, cherry or raspberry liqueur and peach juice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and pour into a chilled fluted glass or large martini glass.
2) Place the orange spiral on the lip of the glass so it drapes down the side. For a fluted glass: drop a cherry into drink. For a martini glass: skewer three cherries on a swizzle stick and lay across the lip.

via Nommynom
This is another one that requires a bit of preparation (specifically squeezing your own orange juice), but using blood oranges is what gives this drink its dramatic deep red color.
Bloody Valentine Martini
2 shots Absolute Mandarin Vodka
Juice of 3 Blood Oranges (about 1 cup)
Splash of Campari
2 Slices of Blood Orange, for garnish
White Sugar, to rim the glass
Equipment:
Martini ShakerMuddlerIceStrainer
2 Martini Glasses
You can start by wetting the rim of your martini glass and dipping it into sugar to get a sweet little sugar rim on the glass. Set aside.
Fill your martini shaker with ice, vodka, Blood Orange juice and Campari. Put one of squeezed out juiced orange halves into the mix. Using a muddler drive the rind down into the ice, when it gets to the bottom you can stop, you just want a quick muddle. Put the top on the martini shaker and give it a few shakes.
Using a strainer pour the contents of the martini shaker in to you glasses. Put one Blood Orange Slice on each glass and serve it to your Valentine.

The Rose Noir has a more elegant feel to it, probably because it involves champagne.
Makes 2 drinks (can be doubled or tripled)
INGREDIENTS
1/4 bottle of rose Champagne
2 shots of vodka
1 shot of blackberry preserves (approximately 3 tbsps.)
1/2 shot of fresh Meyer lemon juice
Fresh blackberries (for garnish)
Meyer lemon slices (for garnish)
DIRECTIONS
1) Add the vodka, blackberry preserves, and Meyer lemon juice to a glass pitcher.
2) Add ice to the pitcher and stir the ingredients for 10 seconds.
3) Add the rose Champagne, stir briefly, and garnish with the remaining fresh blackberries and Meyer lemon slices.
4) Serve in glass cocktail coupes or Champagne glasses.

Boone's Farm was formerly a brand of apple wine produced by the E & J Gallo Winery. Now, flavors are malt-based instead of wine-based due to changes in tax laws. The brand is popular on college campuses due to its low price. Boone's farm beverages, served in 750 ml bottles are often located in the cold box area of convenience stores across the United States. In some U.S. states, such as Utah, some Boone's Farm products are labeled as malt beverages and not as flavored apple/citrus wine products, as state liquor laws prohibit the sale of wine in grocery and convenience stores.

In 1905, Thomas Fentiman, an iron puddler from Cleckheaton, England was approached by a fellow tradesman for a loan. A deal was struck and a recipe for botanically brewed ginger beer was provided as security. The loan was never repaid so Thomas became the owner of the unique recipe. Thomas began using the recipe and producing botanically brewed ginger beer which he delivered door-to-door using a horse and cart for transport. His ginger beer was stored in hand made stone jars known as ‘grey hens’ which were stamped with an image of Thomas’ pet dog ‘Fearless’ who had won awards for obedience at the famous ‘Crufts’ dog competition. Fentiman’s ginger beer quickly became very popular and the family business grew, with several production factories being opened in the North East of England.
The world has changed a lot during the years since Thomas Fentiman founded the business and Fentimans have had to adapt to meet the demands of this world. Changes in the way people shop mean that we don’t deliver door-to-door anymore and instead sell our beverages in retail outlets, bars and restaurants. We prefer to use motorised transport to make deliveries, rather than horses and carts and the old stone jars have been replaced by glass bottles. Some things have not changed however. The business is still in the Fentimans family and is owned by the Great Grandson of Thomas Fentiman and we still make our beverages by the time honoured method of botanically brewing the finest natural ingredients. Our production processes have been updated through the addition of mild carbonation to replace the carbon dioxide lost during pasteurisation, which gives the product a longer life.

St. Pauli Girl beers are brewed and bottled by the St. Pauli Brauerei, which is located within the Beck's brewery in Bremen, Germany.
The brand derives its name from the fact that the original brewery, established 1857 by Lüder Rutenberg, was located next to the former St Paul's Monastery in Bremen. There are currently three brands of beer brewed: St. Pauli Girl Lager, St. Pauli Girl Special Dark and St. Pauli Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage. The beer is only produced for export and is not sold in Germany.
St Pauli Girl brews all of their beers according to the Reinheitsgebot (German purity law) of 1516. The distinctive label depicting a woman wearing traditional outfits was introduced in the 19th century with the advent of the bottled beer. The local artist commissioned for the label drew his inspiration from the waitresses at the time.
St Pauli Girl's Beers were first introduced into select US markets in 1965. National Distribution began in 1975. St. Pauli Non-Alcoholic was first sold in the United States in 1991. The St Pauli Girl website claims that their beer is the number two selling German beer in the United States.

It was founded by three brothers, Jacobus, Gottlieb and Phillip Mumm, German winemakers from the Rhine valley and G. Heuser and Friedrich Giesler on March 1, 1827 as P. A. Mumm Giesler et C°. P.A. stood for the initials of Mumm senior (Peter Arnold Mumm), a successful wine merchant from Solingen. Mumm's label is famous for its red ribbon (Cordon Rouge), patterned after and resembling the French Grand Cordon of the Légion d'Honneur.
The French confiscated all of the Mumm's property, although they had lived in Champagne for almost a century before World War I, because they had never become French citizens.
The company is owned by Pernod Ricard.

G.H Mumm Official Sponsor of the Formula 1
(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/21/6dc6ea2bebe96d3ea91c5dcc597e85bf.jpg)
Since more than 10 years now, G.H. MUMMhas been the champagne befitting any celebration, taking centre stage during the magic moment that caps a superlative victory ceremony. The champagne house announced the renewal of its international partnership with Formula One.
“Since 2000, G.H. Mumm has been the official champagne of Formula One and I believe that we share these same values of excellence, performance and thrill. A driver in F1 has no choice but to excel all the time, just like our Champagne house,” said Lionel Breton, Chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët.

The Jeroboam of G.H. MUMM Cordon Rouge awaits each winner on the podium of every Formula 1 Grand Prix. In 2000, the House of G.H. MUMM signed the agreement with All Sport Management, making official what had been part of F1 victory celebrations since the creation of the World Championship in 1950. G.H. MUMM created also a high-end, masculine bag combining metal and carbon fiber-like texture to keep the Cordon Rouge bottle cool.

The legend began on 13 May 1950 when Formula 1 championship was created. The first Grand Prix race took place on the Silverstone Circuit in England, with the same distance as today’s events, slightly over 300 km. The tradition of paying tribute to the winner with a bottle of champagne began that same year at the Reims-Gueux circuit in the Champagne region of France. But it was actually 16 years later when the prize-giving ceremony on the podium took the form that we now today. Jo Siffert, after winning his category of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, unwittingly enriched the tradition. On the podium, the cork popped out of his overheated bottle of champagne, showering the onlookers below. The following year, in 1967, Dan Gurney celebrated his victory by deliberately spraying the crowd, a gesture that is now a Formula 1 ritual.

Only 1,000 bottles of the Glenmorangie Pride have been produced. Distilled in October 1981, this superb 28 year old single malt has spent the last 10 years in Sauternes casks, the longest period of extra maturation of any Glenmorangie whisky. It is bottled at 56.7% in a 1 litre Baccarat crystal decanter and presented in a stunning wooden case.
Only 14 of these unique bottles have been brought into Australia.

11 Strongest alcoholic beverages in the world that will knock you down
by Vgulp
The alcohol content is defined by proof. In India, the government has regulated the same be at 42.8% ABV. However, this is not the case with liquor manufacturers abroad. I would not be surprised if we see soon in the market with the changing trends in brands and their availability in the local market. Here are some of the most potent drinks known, in no particular order, consumed by people all over the world.
1. EVERCLEAR
(http://s23.postimg.org/dutb8yw17/everclear.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
This is considered as the world's strongest alcoholic drink. It is a grain spirit. Everclear can contain 95 % or 190 proof of alcohol. This is manufactured and sold by the American spirit company, Luxco. This is truly colorless, odorless and tasteless(If you can actually find out what it tastes like without burning your tongue).
2. DEVILS SPRING VODKA
(http://s23.postimg.org/j4p38s1ij/devilsprings.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
This potent spirit is bottled at 80% ABV or 160 Proof. Best consumed in a cocktail with juices or ginger ale, it is always advisable not to down as shots. It is also a wonderful spirit for flaming cocktails.
3. ABSINTHE
(http://s23.postimg.org/54n1gmzsb/absinthe.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The spirit was banned in most of Europe and Americas during the prohibition period of 1913. Also known as a green fairy, the spirit was known to give you hallucinating effects. This is made with wormwood bark or Artemisia Absenthium, from where the name comes. Absinthes are available from 90 Proof (45% ABV) to 170 Proof (85% ABV). However, it has now been legalized after a lot of scrutinizing tests on the product. The one that I have had is the Angelique Verte with 72% ABV and 20mg of thujon content.
4. BACARDI
(http://s23.postimg.org/yxu1p8off/bacardi.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
151 As the name suggests, this is strong rum from the stables of Bacardi with 151 Proof alcohol content or 75.5% ABV. The bottle comes with a stainless steel fire arrestor. Now you know how potent this is. This is beautiful rum for cocktails like daiquiris and Cuba Libre’, however, be careful to regulate the number of cocktails you have.
5. BALKAN 176
(http://s23.postimg.org/6ieobxz1n/bajikah.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The strongest known Scandinavian drink, the Balkan 176 is a 176 Proof vodka from the eastern part of Russia. This is strong, colorless, odorless and tasteless like the everclear. A little less potent than the strongest alcoholic drink, however, not one to get adventurous with. People have said to have died of alcohol poisoning after consuming a lot in short periods of time.
6. SUNSET RUM
(http://s23.postimg.org/9rxow5ciz/sunset.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
A very strong over-proof Rum from Kingstown in the West Indies. This rum is a product of St. Vincent Distillers. It is a robust spirit with 84.5% alcohol and used to mix in cocktails. It is advised against drinking it as it is, as it may cause burns. I am sure that you would not be able to see the sunset clearly if you are downing this by the beach.
7. PINCER VODKA
(http://s23.postimg.org/rkenqa4dn/pincer.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Shanghai Strength vodka is 88.8% ABV, is strong potent vodka from Scotland. Seriously? Would you give way to sipping a few more drinks of Scotch just for this drink? Worth a try ain’t it?
8. Bruichladdich X4+1 Quadrupled whisky
(http://s23.postimg.org/r0481c0iz/bruichladdich.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The most alcoholic single malt whisky has an ABV of 92% or 184 proof. This comes from the island where Laphroaig is made, whose strongest whisky is at 58% ABV. Definitely says as to why there are more sheep in the island more than men.
9. STROH RUM
(http://s23.postimg.org/ml4olyb3f/Stroh.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The Austrian rum is bottled at 160 Proof or 80% Alcohol. Much stronger than the Bacardi 151, the Stroh is one of the oldest forms of Domestic Rum from Europe. They are spiced and not to be sipped straight, however, they are mixed to make punches and flaming cocktails.
10. Spirytus rektyfikowany
(http://s23.postimg.org/6c5kmlfaj/spyros.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
This means rectified spirit or neutral spirit. The 192 Proof spirit or the 96% ABV spirit is a Polish vodka. I would suggest you to leave this with the doctors for sterilizing rather than consuming it. This is more potent than the commonly known Everclear vodka.
11. Good ol’ Sailor Vodka
(http://s23.postimg.org/gtvmicg4r/sailor.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
A little less known vodka; this is produced and consumed in Sweden. This is bottled from 38% ABV, little did anyone know that they had a version that is bottled at 170 Proof or
85% ABV. Now you know how they beat the icy winters.

(http://s13.postimg.org/6d7z83p9j/balvenie_logo.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
(http://s1.postimg.org/juc77s0en/Posted_On_Shock_Mansion106.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland owned by William Grant & Sons.
Balvenie Signature 12yo replaced the fondly-remembered Founders Reserve 10yo as the staple in the distillery's range. This is a marriage of Sherry, Bourbon and Refill casks and, as always with Balvenie, it's a polished, mellow whisky to relax with.
It’s rare to find someone in any field who has devoted 50 years to mastering their craft, but David Stewart, known throughout the Scotch industry as the ‘modest man of whisky’, has dedicated his entire working life to the art of single malt making, becoming one of the most respected craftsmen in his field. He began working at The Balvenie Distillery in 1962 – a year before single malt whisky was officially exported outside Scotland and served a lengthy 12 year apprenticeship before taking on the title of malt master.
This incredible devotion is being recognised, exactly 50 years to the day that David joined the highland distillery as a seventeen year old apprentice, with the release of a rare cask of The Balvenie single malt distilled in 1962. Just 88 bottles of The Balvenie Fifty will be available, with an RRP of £20,000 per bottle.
One of just a handful of malt masters in Scotland, David has an incredible natural talent for reading whisky with his nose and palate and during his career David estimates that he has nosed over 400,000 whisky casks. Also recognised as being behind some of Scotch whisky’s greatest innovations, David’s commitment to retaining traditional techniques as well as championing groundbreaking new methods have earned him some of the industry’s most notable accolades. Bestowed a lifetime achievement award in 2005 by a distinguished panel of experts from the International Wine and Spirits Competition, That year David was also awarded the Grand Prix of Gastronomy by the British Academy of Gastronomes.
Commenting on the release of The Balvenie Fifty, David Stewart said: "Cask 5576 and I have shared the last five decades together at The Balvenie Distillery and as single malt making is as much art and alchemy as precise science, the interaction between wood and maturing whisky means each cask will produce something entirely unique. It’s true to say I have a dream job and I’ve been privileged to taste a lot of wonderful whisky in my time, but it’s a great delight to discover how after half a century this unique cask has turned out a truly special single malt."
The Balvenie 50 year oldThe Balvenie Fifty was matured in a European oak sherry hogshead, rarely used today in whisky making. Filled with newly distilled spirit in 1962, over the following 50 years, while David Stewart committed himself to perfecting his craft, the spirit slowly matured into an outstanding single malt Scotch whisky. The particularly long maturation has created a wonderful fragrant and floral whisky, which is velvety sweet with a beautifully balanced combination of sweet citrus notes and gentle hints of honey, spice and oak.
With an ABV of 44.1%, The Balvenie Fifty is presented in a hand blown glass bottle surrounded by a wooden case, created by Scottish craftsman, Sam Chinnery. Forty nine rings of seven beautiful Scottish grown timbers mark Malt Master David Stewart’s half century at The Balvenie distillery. Galloway Ash, Borders Oak, Lothian Walnut, Cherry and Yew, Fife Beech, and fittingly, Banffshire Elm from The Balvenie Distillery site and a closing layer in brass, echoing the fittings of the distillery’s stills and spirit safes.
The Balvenie Fifty is an extremely limited edition release with just 88 bottles available and has a RRP of £20,000.

Cartier Champagne is a rare thing to find. Cartier have their own Maison making the champagne but never sell it. It is only used for their own events or as gifts. This bottle is the 100th anniversary crystal bottle perfect for collectors.
Unique bottle on the occasion of the 100 anniversary of the jewellers Cartier. These bottles were not for sale.
This is an incredibly rare champagne that you simply cannot buy, Cartier have their own vineyard and the champagne is gifted not sold. It is their 100th Anniversary and the bottle is actually made from Crystal.
It's made of mostly Pinot Meunier, which is pretty weird – Champagne usually a combo or Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the PM fills in just a little bit. But I had an all-Meunier one a few months ago and it was so delicious with a beautiful lilac nose (Meunier traditionally adds a lot of perfumey scent to a Champagne blend).

Grimm Double Negative

Grimm Artisanal Ales
Brewed at Paper City Brewery
Double Negative pours jet black with burnt orange highlights. A long lasting tan head leaves abundant lacing. Aromas bursting from the glass include coffee, bitter chocolate, caramel, black currant and blueberry. Creamy and viscous on the palate, the flavor initially follows the nose. A pop of smooth bitterness comes after, and then a lingering, roasty finish.

GRAMPUS
(http://i58.tinypic.com/b50dj8.gif)
Well here it is, the final piece in our series of massively malty double-mash beers: GRAMPUS. Historically there are other processes called “double mash”. The one you see the most of is the type of mash used to make adjunct lagers: literally two partial mashes that are combined later to create one mash. That one is all because those adjunct grains need a little more attention than barley. We’ve also read other breweries referring to a “triple mash”, meaning three sequential batches of wort going into one fermentation tank: that’s three brews, not a triple mash in our lingo. Our double-mash technique is much more special than those.
Anyway, at the end of the second mash we have a very dense wort indeed (up near 40 plato in the past). The most incredible aspect of our double mash can’t be found in the numbers however – its tasted in the flavour.
GRAMPUS is the latest and potentially final beer we brew in this series of double mashes. So far we have Our Finest Regards, a dark exceptionally malty Barley Wine. Then we added Barbapapa, our Russian Stout. Another big dark malty beer. So what’s missing? A pale hoppy double mash. That’s our GRAMPUS!
GRAMPUS is 8,000 pounds of North American pale malt, pale German malts, and a wee bit of oats, rye and wheat. All pale malts basically. But don’t go searching for those components. In the brewer’s art the resulting maltiness should be greater than the sum of its parts. That’s what we strive for at Pretty Things anyway. The visual result is a shockingly glowing orange beer with a tan or off-white head. The flavour however cannot be described without talking for a second about hops.
GRAMPUS was hopped fairly liberally. Frankly it needed to be quite hoppy to pull off its pale character and endemic sweetness. Lots of Fuggle hops in the boil along with Bravo, then another big charge of hops near the end of fermentation containing El Dorado and Bravo. To get as much as we could from these hops we made a sort of thick hop tea at high temperature and blasted it through the bottom of the tank of fermenting beer.
We used three yeast strains to get this down from its starting gravity near 30 Plato, but none of them are particularly important or noticeable in the flavor of the beer (as is true with our previous two double-mash beers).
The result as we taste it is quite like a strong glass of clementine juice with a bit of a 19th century strong ale personality lingering in the shadows, with a formidable yet forgivable sweetness lacing it all together. Perhaps that was a run-on sentence but if so that’s only because this is a run-on beer. The citrus, berries and tropical fruit from the hops are almost like candied fruit or a purer fruit flavor than you normally get from hops. But those are hops!

Route Of All Evil Black Ale
(http://i62.tinypic.com/m8p8np.gif)
Take the road less shoveled with this fantastic Black Ale by Two Roads Brewing Co. from Connecticut. A hefty Black Ale with profound malt and hop complexity. Neither Stout nor Porter, it will be its own thing – full-bodied, bold and black. Flavor characteristics of dark chocolate, mocha, molasses and dark fruits. Balanced by piney citrusy notes of Pacific Northwest hops. Full-bodied and uncommonly satisfying at 7.5% alcohol.

Bottom's Up : Margarita
(http://i62.tinypic.com/14jbyf8.jpg)
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. While it’s a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, with parades and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States. And what Cinco de Mayo celebration would be complete without a freshly made margarita? Let’s take this opportunity to revisit the history of this delicious concoction of tequila, Cointreau, lime and salt.
But let’s start things off with one fact—no one is really certain of the origin of the margarita. The drink name first appeared in print in a 1953 issue of Esquire magazine, and it contained just an ounce of tequila, some triple sec and the juice of half a lime (or lemon, either was apparently ok). But 15 years before, in his tome “Royal Café Cocktail Book,” William Tarling wrote the recipe for a drink called the Picador, which called for tequila, Cointreau and lime juice (not lemon!). And the margarita is certainly not a traditional Mexican drink, which is probably due to the fact that Mexico has never had a particularly strong cocktail culture, unlike the United States or Britain.
The most widely circulated margarita origin story involves a beautiful young actress with a puzzling allergy, on holiday in Tijuana in 1938. According to legend, Carlos “Danny” Herrera created the drink for a Ziegfeld showgirl named Marjorie King at his restaurant, Rancho La Gloria. King claimed to be allergic to every hard liquor except tequila, but she didn’t want to drink the tequila straight. Herrera created the drink to keep his customer happy, even giving it a Spanish version of her name, and it stayed on the menu long after King left.
Another story revolves around a totally separate drink, the daisy, that had its heyday in the late 1930s. Long gone from most cocktail menus now, the daisy included a base liquor like gin or bourbon, curacao and citrus. Tequila Daisies appeared in cocktail pamphlets from this period, and it’s not too much of a stretch to see how this morphed into the margarita: the word “margarita” is Spanish for “daisy”.
A final story comes from Acapulco, and a Texan socialite named Margaret Sames. Sames would throw riotous parties at her Acapulco vacation house, drawing screen stars, social butterflies and real estate magnates like Conrad Hilton, father of the Hilton Hotel chain. Sames claimed to have created the drink one party season, and Hilton then took it back to serve in his hotels. But, while a popular story, Sames’ claim doesn’t exactly add up: three years before she said she mixed the first margarita, Jose Cuervo was running ads for tequila margaritas in magazines throughout the United States.

Here are the 8 beers that are commonly found in bars in United States that you should stop drinking immediately.
Many of us choose what we eat very carefully, or at least dedicate our minimum attention to it. But when it comes to drinks, especially alcoholic beverages, we do little to make the best decisions for our health. Which is a HUGE mistake. All the work for your body can be ruined in a weekend out. While foods and non alcoholic beverages are required to list their ingredients and are monitored by the FDA, beer does not belong in either. Alcohol industry had lobbied for years to avoid labeling its ingredients. Some to protect its recipes, but most – to hide harmful ingredients.
Here’s a list of some harmful ingredients that are commonly found in beer:
GMO Corn Syrup
GMO Corn
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Fish Bladder
Propylene Glycol
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Natural Flavors
GMO Sugars
Caramel Coloring
Insect-Based Dyes
Carrageenan
BPA
& lots more!
1. Newcastle Brown Ale
(http://s27.postimg.org/uq2j1ejib/newcastle_gmo.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
The Newcastle beer has been found to contain caramel coloring. Class 3 and 4 caramel coloring is made from ammonia, which is classified as a carcinogen. While alcohol is a carcinogen itself, drinking it in moderation may decrease your chances at developing cancer. However, more added carcinogens will have the opposite effect. “The one and only” beer with extra cancer causing qualities.
2. Budweiser
(http://s27.postimg.org/jrr9j7uwz/budweiser_gmo.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
One of the most popular beers, or most advertised is Budweiser. Budweiser contains genetically modified (GMO) corn. In 2007, Greenpeace discovered experimental GMO rice in Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) beer.
3. Corona Extra
(http://s27.postimg.org/3ushmi2ir/creative_corona_extra_print_ads_7.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
I used to love Corona’s commercials. They were so peaceful and relaxing. That is until I found out that the beer contains GMO Corn Syrup and Propylene Glycol. Propylene Glycol is controversial, and is said to may be potentially harmful to your health.
4. Miller Lite
(http://s27.postimg.org/ydia7grpf/Miller_Lite_GMO.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
This is another very popular beer in America that contains GMOs. Miller Lite contains GMO corn and corn syrup. It’s “GMO time”.
5. Michelob Ultra
(http://s27.postimg.org/5112z1g77/michelob_ultra_gmo.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Less popular but still readily available Michelob beer, should be eliminated from your choices. This beer has been found to contain a genetically modified sweetener (GMO dextrose).
6. Guinness
(http://s27.postimg.org/7we65wk77/guinness_gmo_beer.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Guinness is often praised for it’s smoothness. However, several investigations proved that Guinness ingredients are quite disturbing. The beer contains isinglass, an ingredient which comes from fish bladder and high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup has been long banned from many stores and drinks.
Update: Good news! We’ve contacted Guinness and they have stated that they no longer use high fructose corn syrup in any of their beers.
7. Coors Light
(http://s27.postimg.org/qd8kwq05f/Coors_Light_GMO.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Coors light is a drink that is very popular at bars and among college students. Mostly because its cheap. The beer contains GMO corn syrup.
8. Pabst Blue Ribbon
(http://s27.postimg.org/5hmalh3yb/Pabst_Blue_Ribbon_GMO.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
Pabst Blue Ribbon contains GMO corn and GMO corn syrup.
Healthy Beer Alternatives
So when it comes to beer you have to be very careful. Your best option is to find a microbrewery that you can trust. As with everything, try to avoid cheap, low-quality products. Bars may offer Coors Light, Miller Lite or Budweiser specials, but they are cheap for a reason. The rest of the world is banning GMOs everywhere, while USA is lagging years behind, and only several states offer GMO labeling laws. Try to stay away from any American beers. Choose organic beer. Beers that contain 100% organic labels, have to have ingredients that are all 100% organic. While an “organic” label just means 95% of it will be organic. European beer is most likely to be safe from GMO ingredients but unfortunately, most other beer contains GMO artificial ingredients, stabilizers, grains and preservatives, plus, HFCS.

Groomer is a Märzen brewed by the oldest microbrewery operating in Montana, Bayern Brewing . This was a simple beer but it had a great subtle roasty note to the end of each sip that made it stand out. This beer is released for the ski season so grab it while the slopes are still open!

aw. . . thanks for the concern mam. . . though as much i would loved to part ways with my fave beer, i guess i'm gonna stick with it hahahaha. . . ang sabi naman in moderation eh kung paisa isa or dalawa or tatlo and hindi naman daily eh palagay ko pwede naman. . . once in every two weeks i think hindi naman ganun ka-urgent ipagpalit ang isang bagay na nakaka-relax sa akin. . . this is the reason why we worked hard and definitely we deserved some leeway along the line. . . wala naman akong choice at buds din ay kasama sa list. . . meron dito Tiger beer na and i dislike its taste. . . +like pa din at nakita ko naman ang care mo mam, and pagdating syo eh alam mo naman nakikinig naman ako. . . . akala mo lang matigas ang ulo ko (sa itaas ha) pero i do hear your concern. . .

SANTILLI
(http://funkyimg.com/i/23GwV.gif) (http://funkyimg.com/view/23GwV)
Santilli is an American IPA by one of my favorite local breweries here in MA, Night Shift Brewing. It’s an easy drinking and wonderfully smooth IPA with hints of tropical goodness and has become a year-round staple of mine. If you’re ever around Everett just outside of Boston, be sure to check out their awesome taproom!
The glassware used in this photo is actually a plastic IPA cup that’s perfect for places when you don’t want to worry about broken glass. I received a 4 pack of these B Cups Plastic IPA Cups and they’ve worked out well this summer.

Sangria is named after the Spanish word for "bleeding" because of its typical dark-red colorSangria is named after the Spanish word for "bleeding" because of its typical dark-red color.
Because of the variation in recipes, sangria's alcoholic content can vary greatly, usually from 4 percent up to about 11 percent. The ingredients in sangria vary, particularly in the type of fruit used, the kind of spirits added (if any), and the presence or lack of carbonation.
White wine can be used instead of red, in which case the result is called sangria blanca or, as in Argentina and Paraguay, clerico. Some recipes that use heavier reds can be lightened by mixing a bottle of white in the mix. In some parts of Southern Spain, sangria is called zurra and is made with peaches or nectarines.[4] In most recipes, wine is the dominant ingredient and acts as a base. In some regions of Portugal, cinnamon and medronho brandy are used.
Mulled wine can be used to provide a rich full-bodied taste, chilled with orange juice, lemonade and a sliced pear to add sweetness.
Preparation consists of cutting the fruit in thin slices or small cubes, then mixing in advance all ingredients except for ice and carbonated sodas. After several hours, or a full day in a refrigerator to allow time for the fruit flavors to blend with the rest of the ingredients, the ice and any last-minute ingredients are added and the drinks are poured.
A non-alcoholic version of sangria is made from wine grapes, carbonated water, essence of lemon, and cane sugar.
Sangaree (drink) is a similar drink associated with the West Indies and the name sangaree is an archaic English name for sangria itself.
Sangria is served throughout Spain and Portugal during summer, and in the southern and eastern parts of the countries year-round. In these places it is a popular drink among tourists at bars, pubs and restaurants where it is often served in 1-litre pitchers or other containers large enough to hold a bottle of wine plus the added ingredients. A lid or other strainer for the container helps prevent the fruit and ice cubes from falling into the glass. Among the Spanish and Portuguese, sangria is most typically served at informal social gatherings, much like punch, from a punchbowl. Sangria is often served with a wooden spoon, used to get fruit out of the bottom of the punchbowl or pitcher. Sangria is also commonly served in Cuba, Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Argentina.
Bottled sangria can be bought in some countries. In the parlance of EU administrators, such products are referred to as "aromatised wines".
Sangria has become popular in the UK and the U.S., with many supermarkets stocking it during summer months. Sangría Señorial, a sangria-flavored non-alcoholic soft drink distributed by Tipp under the Jarritos family, has become popular in the United States.

Cheeky Calendar Marks ‘Alcoholidays’, Gives Us 12 More Reasons To Drink Up...
:hilo: :hilo: :hilo: :P :P :P
New Jersey-based creative services company One Trick Pony has been celebrating the “Alcoholidays”—we assume these are holidays that are centered around alcohol consumption—for ten years.
For 2014, its creative team decided to mark the occasion in “true, ridiculous, and over-the-top style”—they created 12 new holidays for their clients that are detailed in a pin-up calendar, which features men of the agency as models.
Processed with a two-color overprint technique, its pages are transformed when one looks at them through the custom decoder glasses that accompanies it—this special calendar also comes with a mini bottle of vodka.
