Brittany Maynard was only 29 yrs and she said she’ll kill herself on Nov 1st and true enough she followed through and last Saturday, she took her own life.

Maynard, terminally ill with brain cancer, was in the national spotlight when she moved to Oregon where assisted suicide is allowed.

Now, Vatican official condemns the aided death as reprehensible adding there is no dignity in her death. “Assisted suicide is an absurdity,” Carrasco de Paula told the Italian news agency ANSA. “Dignity is something different than putting an end to your own life.”

What do you think? Who has moral authority over a person’s decision to kill oneself? Is it the church, government, medical practitioners, your family or just you?

Myself and Family members kasi ito lang naman talaga ang may immediate concern sa buhay ng isang tao as the insurance code puts it: "insurable interest"...

immediate family i guess... they have the right to know everything and the right to adhere to their beloved's request for a euthanasia..  bloated medical expenses and  the patient's condition should served as their basis for such consideration... for me, gone are the days that we continue to keep the patient suffering from such unbearable state, we must let go of such situation to avert the rising cost of hospitalization and at the same time granting  the patient's request for eternal rest.... i think it's not about practically either, it's about sound logic for me...
