The tough-talking mayor shared that there are already cops who were killed by authorities in law-enforcement operations because of their alleged involvement in criminal activities including kidnapping and the illegal drugs trade.
"Marami na ang namatay dito na pulis na nagkidnap at holdap. Dagdagan natin kung gusto mo. Do not do it in my city," Duterte said. (A lot of cops who committed kidnapping and holdups have died here. I can add you to the casualties. Do not do it in my city.)
Duterte's warning came days after the Philippine National Police in Manila revealed that the men caught on camera by a Twitter user to arresting passengers of a white Fortuner were actually policemen who kidnapped two men and extorted more than P2 million from them.
Later, the National Police Commission revealed that two of the suspect cops were involved in a similar incident in 2011 but had yet to be dismissed. The PNP is still investigating why these cops were able to return to the La Loma police station despite being relieved.
"Mamili ka ng siyudad na assigment, 'wag dito sa Davao. Kasi dito sa Davao, papatayin talaga kita. At sabihin mo 'yan sa [Commission on] Human Rights para sabihin ng human rights sa police na 'wag kayo gumawa ng masama doon sa Davao kasi babarilin kayo ni Duterte," the mayor said.
(Ask to be assigned somewhere else, not here in Davao. Because here in Davao, I really am going to kill you. And tell that to the Commission on Human Rights so they will tell the police, don't commit criminal acts in Davao because Duterte will shoot you.)
Duterte has been at odds with the CHR since the time it was chaired by now Justice Secretary Leila de Lima. The commission tried to investigate him for having created the so-called Davao Death Squad, which had been implicated in extra-judicial killings of suspected criminals.
"Ang dapat gawin ng Human Rights magpa-seminar sila at sabihin, hoy, police, 'wag kayo maghulidap, 'wag kayo sa droga, kasi papatayin talaga kayo ng mayor doon. And it has happened and will happen again. In other words, don't erase this, don't f--- up in Davao City," Duterte added.
(What the CHR should do is conduct seminars for policemen and tell them, don't engage in extortion, don't get involved in drug deals, because the mayor there will really kill you.)
The mayor boasted that so far the police force in Davao City is performing well, except for some "rare" cases wherein cops have been involved in questionable activities.
"Dito sa Davao, mababait. Maybe we are lucky ang na-assign sa Davao talagang matino," Duterte said. (The cops in Davao are clean. Maybe we are lucky that the ones assigned here are upright.)

he's my type of guy.... an action man... i think he will not be effective as a legislator or get elected to a much higher office... tough nut to crack...

When i see this man. Kapag naging president toh Civil War agad tayo... Revoluionary. Parang Andres Bonifcio.
.... Naalala ko tuloy Dad ko when he's into that jolly attitude and willing makipag debate about politics ( .... At wala ng tao sa paligid dahil nagtago na silang lahat ) at ako na lang natira... He would always rant about the government and then he would burst out saying ... Dapat yang batasan building pasabugan ng grenade launcher... He would fix a stare on me and smile kase nakanganga ako...hahaha!
Duterte... Pang desperate times, desperate measures kind of a man... But our political reality ... Never really had to do with this kind of character.... Noon, siguro.....but ngayon... malabo. ..Actually they were the ones... Unfortunately being only remembered na lang for their galant acts.... But were easily margined out by those.. Who are deemed experts in their political exploits.
Sensationalized popularity... Spoken and thought of by the masses... And eventually will be exploited by the ones with much higher political ambitions .
.. But then, i love his Vigilante attitude. Rambo- Terminator .. Avenger all in One.

Somehow i think, we do need men like that Duterte Guy... Gives inspiration to those who needs something like a hero figure .. Nakaka inspire nga naman.
Kaya lang kung minsan ang pulitika sa pinas marami talaga ang nakaka awang patayin ... Pero nakakainis naman buhayin.
Lol! ... I bet Yang si Duterte, parang manok na panabong yan laging 'hiting' ang kamay na kalabitin na ang gatilyo.

Sa Maynila nag aral pa ko ng martial arts para laging handa sa mga masamang nilalang na nakakasabay ko sa lansangan. Living here in DC for almost 2 years now, very peaceful.
Kailangan talaga ang mga man of action na gaya ni Mayor Duterte in order to make a difference. Too bad at di niya trip tumakbo for higher office. I'm still hoping though na magbago ang isip niya. Kung sakali man, paniguradong marami din mga magrereklamo sa mga ways niya, lalo yung mga masasagasaan.
