just like being a doctor.. it needs a pre-requisite of a four year course before you can take up law...not exactly expensive but if you have the patience or you are that studious then you're up for this course...it's better if you have a degree in BS Education-english major... it helps a lot...

(Supreme Court Rulings and Ammendments)

Yes. any 4year course will do and ok lang kahit may deficiency ka sa mga required subjects as laid down in Rule 138 (i think) in the Rules of Court as long as kukunin mo yun during your years in the College of Law.
Edit: rule 138 pala

curious lang ako sir charlie.. bakit yung iba 18 years old palang nakakakuha na ng law?

wala namang age requirement sa pagkuha ng law sir sa pag apply lang ng bar meron and that is 21 years old according to rule 138.

No. I mean diba kailangan meron kang degree bago makakuha ng law sir? Edi ibig sabihin 18 palang sila may degree na? Sobrang aga naman nila nag aral?

May I ask kung sino sir? Well theoretically there are two answers for that:
1. It might be na maaga siyang nagtapos ng undegrad. i.e nagtapos siya on or before 18.
2. Before the new rules was promulgated, pwede nuon ang mga two year courses lang i.e associate in arts para makakuha ng law katulad ng lolo ko pero that was waaaay before.
Wala na ngayon ang mga tinatawag na pre law courses... any 4 year courses pwede nang kumuha ng law kaso nga lang may mga units na required under rule 138 na dapat mu ring i-satisfy during sa law school endeavor mo.
Trivia lang: pwede ka ngang kumuha ng law sir tapos kapag first year ka na petition ka kaagad sa Supreme Court to allow you to take the bar even without finishing your law course/degree may gumawa na niyan... si Jose Diokno, I think he was a second year law student at that time, di na nya tinapos ang law... nag file siya ng petition kaagad para makatake ng bar and he literally CONQUERED the bar. 1944 Bar Topnotcher.

Yung nabalita sa tv sir last year. Yung namatay sa hazing hehehe..
Ganun pala yun. Maraming salamat sir. Thanks

Tama po yung sabi ni Sir Charlie House that's rule 138 saka Sir pwede naman po maka graduate ng bachelor's degree ng 18 po ako nag graduate kasi dec pa b-day ko and maaga ko pumasok, hehe.
To Summarize po:
All in all least 9 years schooling before ka maging lawyer Four years pre law ( any college course)and 4 years law proper and 1 year atleast to review and take the bar exam.
(Taken from yahoo)
Usually a four year college course is a good pre law. However It is not a big deal that you take up political science. But some suggest you take a college course that will be your fall back if you dont happen to pass the bar examination. Accounting, engineering, science courses or computer programming is the best. They are always in demand everywhere you go pero fallback din naman is you can still be a legal researcher etc.

^ review is just a discretion furthermore madalang na ang practice ngayon na a year of review mostly 6 months na lang pagka graduate sabak kaagad sa review.

I agree with all of charliehouse' points. Add lang sa trivia (more of question, di kasi ako sure). Diba nka 2 take si ka pepe diokno dahil yung fisrt take nya ay ibibagsak sya dahil he queationed the questions instead of just answering them.

Additional Bar Trivia: Senator Juan Ponce Enrile got a perfect score in mercantile law in the bar.

bossing thrashmetal, makapagbigay na nga payo kung pupuwede. take it from an older guy in his 40s.
:book1:
(mcdo, pwedeng as high as the equivalent of P660.00 /hour.)

Furthermore, mapa abroad ka man o dito sa pilipinas eh it all boils down to sipag at tiyaga parin.
-
Marami nang OT dito... Its not about where you can earn more. Its about what you want as a profession and gives you the more satisfaction. With all due respect pero I'm sure na mas proud sa sarili at mas mataas ang personal satisfaction ng lowest paid lawyer dito sa Pinas kesa OFW na empleyado ng McDo sa ibang bansa. People still look
up to you kung lawyer ka me pera ka o wala. Marami rin namang pera sa legal profession and that is a fact but we are always taught since the first day sa law school na
compensation is merely secondary and ancillary sa propesyong ito. Sorry OT rin aako but I have to defend dignity of the profession kaya nag react ako.
-
-
Nakaka 1 week na ko sa law school. Haha! Grabe. Kaya ko to. Magtatapos ako ng law at walang makapipigil sakin!!!
-
Pangalawa, lahat ng 4 year course pataas pwede pre-law pero you have to take English deficiency.
