Lito Lapid is the perfect example. He ran for Senator and won, but he resigned because he cannot understand the English discussions on the floor. Then this genius ran for mayor of Makati, maybe thinking that the businessmen there don't know how to speak English. He lost and then ran again for Senator. Lo and behold! the fans of Leon Guerrero voted for him again even if he already admitted that he cannot understand the discussions in the Senate. >:(
As I've said before, stupid voters deserve stupid candidates. Unfortunately for us, the stupid voters outnumber those who use their brains. :(

that's the problem with us today. these lawmen prey on the poor and the needy for their votes. it's a fact that these politicians buy out the needy ones during election. who wouldn't take P5000 or P500 for just a vote? for them, it's a blessing, especially if they couldn't earn P500 in a week, right? but the problem is, that day of "happiness" (with the P500) comes 3 (or 6) years of misery. so sad....

Hell yes I agree. Just watching TV now and our TV then, sa umaga you will remember plenty of educational shows, now what do you get? You get to see Kris eat. If not that, telenovelas and news na puro kadramahan and boladas, add to the mix noon time shows na for the life of me, I never understood.
Degeneration talaga. I wouldn't be so surprised why people are getting dumber.
We had formidable politicians back then, in hindisght talagang may ibubuga. Compared to the morons we have now, wow. Night and day.
Now everything is show-business. Who ever is the best showman that can entertain the unthinking majority, wins.
I'm afraid it will only get worse. Ignorance is truly a bliss, kasi pag marunong ka mag isip, ma fru-frustrate ka talaga.

yeah.... hindi na masyado nag iisip ang pinoy sa kung sino ba ang iboboto... basta sikat o di kaya may pera sila pantawid gutom for 3 days eh iboboto na natin sila...
pero lets face it, pano ba naging ganito ang botante ng mga pinoy ngayon... dahil na rin sa maraming factor kung bakit binoboto nila yun tipo yun lang ang alam nila o di kaya eto ang isa sa way nila para maibsan kahit ilang araw lang ang gutom nila. At the end, dahil sa kahirapan din at kakulangan sa ibang bagay kaya ang mentality state nila sa pagboto ay ganyan kababa...

Para sa akin mali na sabihin na bobo yung mga botante kasi parang sinabi mo na sisihin natin ang biktima kaysa sa salarin.
Malay ba natin kung yung pcos ay nakaprogram na kung sino ang mga mananalo.
Imbes na sisihin ang mga botante ang dapat atakihin ay yung politikong nag-aastang para sa bayan at mamamayan yun naman pala ay para sa kaban.

For me this ads is an act na rin para makita natin kung ano merong naka hain sa atin .. example nalang nung kumandidato si erap sa pag ka presidente .. ano ba alam nun? Pero marami parin ang bumoto dahil sa kilalang tao sya .. kung si fpj hindi nadaya panalo din sya dapat! Ano din alam nun? Sa ngayon andaming mga artista, asawa ng naka upo, anak, kamag anak at kung sino sino pa ang naka upo sa pwesto .. hindi dahil sa nabayaran may mga bumoto din dyan na ang nasa isip ay "kilala" sila .. asan naba yun mga nag tapos ng kurso na may kakayahan mamuno? Kung meron man .. karamihan pa rin sa atin mas pipiliin ang kilala kesa may alam! At itong ads na ito mabisang pang gising de gulat sa mamamayang pilipino!

Most voters have Fan mentality instead of common sense. Dahil bida at mabait sa pelikula, akala nila ganun din sa tunay na buhay. Kahit anong kabulastugan ang gagawin ng idol nila, sasambahin pa din at paniniwalaan. Habang maraming fans sa pinas, hindi mawawala ang mga artista sa pulitika.

realtalk : maraming bobong pinoy. Karamihan jan (hindi ko nilalahat) yung mga walang maayos na impormasyon. mabigyan lang ng 500 pesos sasambahin ka na. Medyo agree ako sa nagpanukalang yung mga marunong nalang ang pagbotohin at yung mga nagbabayad ng tax. Pustahan tayo panalo si binay sa 2016.. maraming bobotante eh.

We can only blame democracy. 99% of pinoys are inherently lacking of mental tools to make meaningful judgment. And this gets exploited by the people who have control of the media i.e celebrities, athletes.
Kung ako lang, dapat lagyan ng skill testing questions ang mga ballot to gauge the intelligence of the voters. Nullified all votes with wrong answers. At least, we still exercise everybody's right to vote at the same time recognizing the competence of the qualified electorate.

They say that Knowledge is Power... But in the Philippine Politics, it's the other way around. Ignorance it is! .... And since Democracy is gettin too democratic.... Voters are getting too stupid and ignorant too...
Parang business franchise lang yan... Give the people what they want.. Kung anong mabili... Regardless if in the future ... There's that 100% impossibility of getting what the consumer really needs.
Democracy is good, when you know how to handle the stupidy of the majority/ masses... And sometimes, having that Superior mind... Can be a little tempting, especially when you have your own personal agenda...
... What stops you from gettin greedy? When majority is out there willing to jump into your hands and be exploited....
With your too democratic Democracy?

They believe that their idols can do whatever they want and will continue to vote for them until our country's coffers run dry.

What do you expect? The Philippines is still classified as a third world country with the majority of the population is dominated by middles classes. That's why those shark headed twisted brained politicians can easily exploit those who are desperate enough to be bribed. Too bad they were blinded by false hopes and promises .. But who would have kept their words given to those who are obviously ignorant of their rights,? when people/ politicians with their greedy interests and democratic propaganda with their magnanimous appeal to the masses can buy votes and approval for just a lowly price?
I guess... The Philippine nation's self esteem is just as low as a hundred bucks.
Tsktsk...ignorance is not all an excuse not to be aware of what's going on. We have been into the pits of poverty for almost half a century now... What the fall is wrong with those people who only gets a hundred bucks for the future of their kids?!
Might as well think first before we all put a name on that damned ballots! Otherwise , we all risk going deeper into the shit of all those democratic fallers in the government .

let us not forget the external factors. maybe some wants us to be or remain this way so we can't prioritize our country's development and self sufficiency. given the fact many filipinos are opportunist, they will grab whatever offer that will alleviate their daily horrors and nightmares in life and live their dreams without even thinking of the bigger picture.
imagine yun mga issues about missing airlines, mideast fighting and countries trying to cross and claim borders. yan ang nangyayari ngayon pero sa ibang bagay nakatuon gobyerno natin. hindi ba malaking distraksyon yun? bakit nga kaya may nangdidistrak sa gobyerno natin? :-\
