That's a complete assembly line, right? Do we export or just for local consumption?

That I am not sure. But FWIW when the TAP plant in Laguna was being constructed in '94 or '95 I was part of the design team. At that time they are looking at final assembly of sub-assembled parts from other countries. There could be a lot changes after 18 years.

Vios - magkano sa Pinas ito ngayon?

I have a 2012 Prius. Nasa around $25,000 sya dito or mga roughly PhP 1M equivalent.
I heard may Toyota Prius na rin dyan sa Pinas. Magkano ba dyan ito?

Merong prius sa pilipinas and you won't get it in 1m. That's for sure.
So far, i'm not a fan of the redesign. It a step forward yes, pero nahuli ata ang toyota sa ganyang design.

New Gen na bro. Yung Gen 2 may isang facelift na. Wala pa yata nirerelease na official specs list ang TMPI.

Depende sa needs mo.
Kung gusto mo ng matipid sa gas at mura ang maintenance, Vios ka na.
Para sa akin, matibay ito kasi ginagawang taxi at marami dun ay buhay pa. Madami din ang parts nito kaya madali lang ang maintenance.
Kung vios kukunin mo, M/T na pero kung A/T, yung 1.5 variant kuhanin mo.
Para sa akin din, pinaka value sa pera eh yung 1.3G M/T.
Kung vios din naman, hintayin mo nalang yung Gen. 3 since malpit na daw ilabas ito.
Hindi ko alam yung sasabihin sa suzuki swift kasi di pa ako nakagamit ng isa.

May pics na sa internet. I think thailand spec models yung nsa internet. Ang masasabi ko lang: laki ng improvement sa 2nd gen in terms of design. Maganda din ang interior! Gusto ko sana new engine pero naisip ko din na mas maganda gamitin ang current engine para madaming parts. Sa tingin ko gagyanihin nito ang ginawa sa corolla dati (smallbody - lovelife; new body, same engine).

Looks good kaya lang right after mo makabili ng 2013 Vios may makakadikit ka sa traffic na same model na converted sa Taxi hehe badtrip. Kidding aside, walang tatalo sa parts availability ng Toyota dito sa atin, 1 reason kung bakit Toyota yung isa sa gamit ko. Medyo mababa nga lang ang resale value.

Yes Boss, tama ka mas lagi kong gamit yung Toyota ko kesa sa iba. Honda kasi Sir parang may contract/agreement ka na kailangan pirmahan na bawal gawing taxi ang units nila kaya siguro namemaintain nila yung higher resale value unlike sa Toyota na kahit bagong model pwedeng gawing taxi na.

vios ..eto ginagamit ko nung ngrerent pa ako. feedback-it almost got me when i did a sudden brake approaching on a round about..muntik ko ng mabangga yung bugatti veyron..poor braking power ang vios. so i stopped renting and bought my own car.

I own a 2010 vios (although my parents paid for it; i'm just 23 and owning my own car is not my priority right now). Brake performance is great for a front disk/rear drum setup w/ ABS. Probably proper PMS is not followed and the company doesn't use the recommended pads. It's rented so you're not sure how the car is treated.
Btw, i'm not a vios fanboy or something ;)

ung interior eh kamuka nang honda jazz ..
ung side curves hyundai accent .. ginawa lang medyo bulky pero at the price neto is same padin sa toyota vios natin ngaun at kung reputation habol mo wag kana bumili dahil i pan tataxi lang din yan.

eto nga ang mahirap dito sa vios, kahit sabihin mo na Vios 1.5G, hindi maiwasan mai-compare sa taxi tsk tsk.

The Vios is a spry little car.
I've driven a friend's Vios (1.5G) and compared it to my (ancient) Cefiro.
Handling is fine, typical of FF lightweight compacts. There's a bit of understeer when forced into tight turns.
Acceleration is OK, enough to outsprint taxis and untuned EK-series Civic VTIs.
Gas economy seems fine. After all it's a small car!
Styling is OK. It looks a lot better than the old Vios units from 2007 or so. Looks similar to Korean competitors though.
It just feels a little cramped for me. Driving a Cefiro means being used to having a lot of headroom, leg room and space at the back. The Vios being a compact has very little of the 3.

alam naman natin sir bihira lang makaaford satin nang luxry o sports car unless mayaman ka talaga i level natin yang reputation sa mga common people na may car .. hindi naman sa nagiging nega dito ayoko lang maramdaman nila ung feeling na pang taxi ung car dahil talagang masakit haha...
well advatage kasi u will have some sort of reviews since best seller for taxi. malalaman mo agad pros and cons .. but same as other manufacturers depende parin sa paggamit .. it can last even 30 years depende sa model kung d maluluma agad. hehe
