MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao made his customary appearance on the American late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, April 2, to promote his fight with Timothy Bradley on April 12.

But he wasn't alone.

Former United States president Bill Clinton preceded him on the show and was all praises for the 8-division champion, who is also a congressman in the Sarangani province of the Philippines.

"He’s already in the Philippine parliament and I hope he goes right on up the ladder," said Clinton, who was in the White House from 1993-2001. "I think he’s a great guy and a great role model and he’s very strong and honest."

When asked about Clinton's suggestion that he could "lead" the Philippines, Pacquiao said, "Right now I’m focused on my position as a congressman." Kimmel, who has hosted Pacquiao on the show 8 times, then asked jokingly if his wife Jinkee, the vice governor of Sarangani, would ever run the country, pointing out that Clinton's wife eventually became senator.

To Kimmel's comment that Pacquiao and Jinkee could become a "power couple" like the Clintons, the boxing icon smiled and offered a wry dismissal: "That’s a far way to go."

Pacquiao's wife is pregnant with their fifth child, whom Pacquiao revealed will be named Israel.

Pacquiao was also asked about his feelings regarding Bradley's comments that he deserved to win their controversial first fight.

"Because of pride and because of ego, he claimed that he won the fight," said Pacquaio.

"I’m not thinking about the knockout, if the knockout comes it will come. What my focus is more aggressiveness, more throwing punches. I want to prove to him that my killer instinct is always there."
