Title: 800,000 sign 'Duterte for President' petition

MANILA -- Hundreds of thousands of residents of Davao City are urging Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to run for President in the 2016 elections.

Around 800,000 residents from 170 barangays, most of them registered voters, signed a petition urging Duterte join the presidential race.

The campaign is spearheaded by the barangay captains in Davao City. They call their group "Pilipinas Duterte 2016 Movement."

Residents in 12 barangays have yet to sign the petition, but advocates are confident that they will be able to collect more signatures by the end of the month.

The group will expand its campaign in April in the whole Davao region, which has about 1.7 million voters.

The group believes Duterte will become a good president since he has done a lot for Davao City.

They want either rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, or Senator Grace Poe to be his running mate.

A political analyst also said the mayor can be a strong contender for the 2016 polls because of his strong political power and good governance.

Duterte, however, has repeatedly stressed that he is not interested in running for President.

aba tumataas ang hype para sa presidency ni Duterte

Handa na ba kayo sa revolutionary government kung sakali sya ang mahalal na Pangulo?

May possibilidad din ng Martial Law kung magkataon

Handa ba si Pinoy para sa disiplina?

No doubt at pati ako napapabilib ni Duterte sa way ng pamumuno nya sa kanyang lugar.

Kaso marami syang masasagasaan na bobong at walang disiplina na pinoy...

Saka kung running mate? Naku po wag naman sana si Jinggoy...

For me maganda ang partner nila Hagedorn...  ;D

Haha tambalang duterte at hagedorn .. ASTIGAS!!! mas gugustuhin ko pa maging strict ang pinas sa mga laws kesa sa sobrang kalayaan na pati ang namumuno inaabuso .. pag natuloy yan si duterte boboto ulit ako at iboboto ko sya .. since 2002 stop nko bumoto ..

Isulong na yan. Yung tipong jaywalking lang ang kaso death penalty agad. >:D Seriously, tingin ko magiging disiplinado na ang mga pinoy nyan. He serves as a model leader na walang takot at alam ang nararapat gawin sa nasasakupan nya.

Wag! magaling si duterte pero pang city lang sya. Di uubra yung style nang pamumuno nya sa bansa.

Oo dre marami makakalaban yan sa gobyerno .. marami yan problema haharapin .. pero makikita mo ang pag sulong ng bansa kung ang pinuno mismo ang magiging huwaran ..

hmmm... i am a duterte fan and i believe his ideals... the man is action oriented and can really do wonders but i don't think he will run for presidency.. the guy is so smart not to fall into the lion's den... alam nya ang kanyang kapasidad...
