Trip details

Our starting point is in Davao City. We left Davao at around 9:30am directly after working graveyard shift. Our friend who is from Surigao contracted a van which we rented for our 3 days and 2 nights getaway. We paid 18k for the van but we were 18 persons on the trip so we only had to share 1k each for our transpo cost which includes back and forth travel from Davao to Surigao and vice versa as well as travel to the 3 destinations that we went to.

It takes more or less 4-5 hours to get to Surigao from Davao City. First stop was Britania Islets. We arrived there at around 3pm and rented a place to stay overnight which was suggested by the van driver. The damage on the pocket for the whole group was around 4k which includes a very big room for our overnight accommodation, food, and boat rental for island hopping. Total cost per person in Britania was less than 250 pesos since there were lots of us who shared the expenses.

As can be seen in the pictures above, Britania has a group of islets and so you'll need to hire a boat for island hopping. The beauty of the place is like a mix of Boracay and Palawan. Very fine white sand and water which is at some part clear, some part green, and some part blue.

Day 2 in Surigao we left Britania at around 6am and took off to Enchanted River in Hinatuan. I didn't keep track how long the trip was but I estimate that it took us more or less 2 hours to get there. The place looks majestic. What you see in the picture is how it exactly looks like in person. At first when I was just viewing the pics online, I thought that they were edited. I had to go there to see for myself and I became a believer. Simply breathtaking especially when I took the plunge and jumped in on the 85 feet cool and super blue waters. There are life vests for rent if you don't know how to swim.

Enchanted River is also home to big fishes. At 12noon, no one is allowed to swim due to fish feeding time. They play music which feels as if you were in a church then you'll be surprised to see large fishes surface and wait for food to be thrown to them. Its really a magical experience.

Last stop for the day after we finished watching the fish feeding is to Tinuy-an Falls. Its located in Bislig which is just around an hour drive from Hinatuan. Its a very tall water fall. You can take a dip in the water or ride a balsa and come near the water fall.

For our 2nd night in Surigao, we stayed at our friend's house. In the morning we drove around Bislig to see some cool attractions then drove back to Davao City, back to reality.
